The hours are long, the days hot, and the fields dusty, but it wouldn’t be Kansas in June without wheat harvest! We’re honored to get to be part of it each year.

Wheat harvest is always a Finer Thing of the summer! What Finer Things are you celebrating this week? Link up and let us know!

I still seriously want to visit wheat fields. Corn and soybean, I’ve seen aplenty. And cotton fields are gorgeous. But I really need to visit you out in KS sometime…
The “case for a visit” builds…
I love harvest time! My dad’s a farmer and I’ve always been so proud of his occupation. I’m so glad your kids are having this experience too. Nothing says summer to me like grain trucks, air seeders, grain bins, combines, swathers and praying for rain
!
LOL, yes! We’re finally getting all the rain we missed out on in the spring. Not the best timing, but we’ll make do.
How cool is that? What a great experience! My 11 month old would be all over that. He is obsessed with anything with wheels.
My grandad still harvests every year and he’s 87 years old. I don’t think he’ll retire until he goes home to be with the Lord. Once the harvest is in your blood, you can’t stop!
Oh my word, you are so right! I’d almost PAY a family to let us do harvest with them if I had to.
Love the pictures! Looks like a great time!
Oh my, that picture of Lance with that darling pumpkin on his knee . . . that is so PRECIOUS!!
My family has never done farming, but we’ve lived in Kansas long enough to have harvest in our blood. At my parents’ church, they even sing all these missions songs with a harvest theme during the physical harvest every year. Sounds corny, but we loved singing those songs and changing the words just slightly to fit the Kansas scenery!
I love the photo of your husband and baby- so touching!
I shared my recipe for Artichoke And Cauliflower Soup.
Thanks for hosting!
Oh, yum! Artichokes would certainly lend a lot of flavor in that combo!
Neat to see pics of a wheat harvest. I’m way down here in South Florida without a wheat field in sight!! We all go in on a big organic grain order so we can mill our fresh flour so it’s neat to see where it’s coming from!
I shared my Zesty Greek Salad and a Low Carb Experiment Update.
Have a GREAT weekend!
Amazing how we can be from the same country, but really live in two different “worlds.”
Your baby boy is soooo cute! I am a sucker for chunky babies
