If you only visit Dillons once this week, go tomorrow! The following fantastic deals are available Thursday, April 2, only.
- One dozen eggs: 89¢ (Stock up! Buy a bunch for Easter.)
- Land O Lakes butter: $1.69 (Great price for butter. Go for it!)
- Kroger Cheese, 24 oz.: $3.00 (The equivalent of $1.00 for an 8 oz. package. Can’t be beat!)
- Oscar Mayer Bacon: $2.50
- Hershey’s Easter Candy: $1.88
- Nestle Easter Candy: $1.58
On to some bargain meal ideas. Obviously, meals featuring eggs would be a great plan. A few of my favorite egg-based dishes:
- breakfast burritos
- breakfast casserole
- deviled eggs (Who’s hosting Easter this year? I’ll bring the eggs!)
- pizza omelet
Use your imagination and your sale items to create the above burritos, casserole, or omelet using
- ham ($1.19/lb.)
- Farmland sausage ($1.50)
- bacon ($2.50 on Thursday, $3.00 the rest of the week)
Another tasty, easy meal I like to make when ham is on sale is the One Pot Ham Dinner. This skillet supper goes together quickly and is full of old-fashioned flavor. The first time I made it my husband remarked, “This tastes like something Gram would have made.” The finest of compliments!
Note: The recipe calls for ham steak. I just use several slices of leftover, cooked ham.
Sale items available for One Pot Ham Dinner:
- ham ($1.19/lb.)
- potatoes ($1.98/5 lb. bag)
- green beans (58¢/can)
- onions (50¢/lb.)
- cream of mushroom soup (make your own for less!)
Be sure to visit Shannon’s blog for Dillon’s coupon matchups. Her Dillons is in Topeka, but some of the prices match our local store.
