Weekend Wanderings

keyboard Weekend Wanderings

Many of you know that we are in a race to get our 15-year mortgage paid off in 6 total years.  With lots of sacrificing (no vacations, no cable, pre-paid cell phone, blah, blah, blah) we’re on track to have it done 2 years from now (5 1/2 total years).  Yay!  Simple Mom’s Pay off Your House and Give Like Crazy is the cheerleading we need to keep on keeping on.

Healthy, Grain-Free Brownies. I’m skeptical, but I’m gonna try them anyway.  (Just won’t tell the family until after they taste!)

What a great reminder from Lindsay as she asks, Can Natural Living Become an Idol?  We’re striving to make solid health, financial, and green living decisions, but everything has it’s place.

The He Said/She Said series that Kristen and her husband are doing over at We Are THAT Family is inspiring, thought-provoking, and powerful.  Your marriage needs this series.

After I make the brownies, I’ll have to follow up with Kate’s Homemade Donuts.  Just because I don’t want to be too healthy.  Oh, wow!

Have a great weekend!

Oooh, always like articles about paying off your mortgage. We’ve got three more years to go to pay ours off in 7 years. Not bad considering houses in the Chicago suburbs aren’t too cheap.

So yeah, we have to stick to cheap thrills too – like brownies and donuts. :)

Blog circles are so funny. Already read all of these because I subscribe or because they were linked to, except the Simple Mom one. Which I know I should be reading!!

PS I think I licked my computer screen when I saw the homemade donuts.

Ok, that is funny. I need to broaden my circle probably, but I barely have time to read the ones I do!

Great blogs! I too have seen most of them already! : ) Is the mommy blogger world really that small?

Surely not. Maybe I need to branch out a bit. :)

I saw Donielle’s brownie recipe too and am kind of skeptical, but DEFINITELY plan to give ‘em a try.

And I thought Lindsay’s post was excellent!

Gonna check out the others you linked now :-D

Even my husband, who reluctantly helped make the brownies couldn’t deny that they were deliciously good.

Ok, that’s a good vote of confidence. I’ve got my beans soaking today. Perhaps tomorrow I’ll give it a shot!
