My favorite (and most needed to read) article of the week: Be Present in the Everyday Moments. Our summer activities have helped me relearn this necessary focus.
My kids haven’t had time to say “I’m booooorrrreeeddd!” yet this summer, but we don’t have to wait for bored to try new things like this fun S’mores activity!

The best alternative to growing it yourself is to Buy Local. Now, if only I lived near a farmer’s market…
I love the idea of a Homekeeping Binder or Household Planner. My problem is follow through! My last attempt is at the bottom of a pile of STUFF on my desk. Good grief!

I bookmarked “Be Present in Everyday”. Thanks for sharing that.
I have a “Home Binder”. I keep all of our household warranties, receipts for new appliances, carpet, etc, and paint chips according by rooms, as well as any work records/receipts, furnace cleaning dates, etc., and business cards of all who we’ve had come and do work. I had one for our first home as well, and when we sold it, I passed it on to the new owners. They loved it! It helps to have everything in one place.
I have a filing system for everything else in our lives…medical records, school receipts, teaching certificates, insurance policies, etc… But it just seems easier to have one binder for the house. That way I always know where everything is!
PS…I also have a binder for all of our toys with their directions, warranties, and the baby gear… booklets that came with strollers, bouncy seats, swings, etc. That way when I pass it on to another mom, or sell it at consignment, it has all of its important info. It’s a big plus!!
I wish I was the ultra-organized type… but it doesn’t seem to be happenin’
Amy, thanks for including my post!

Why am I just seeing this? (Oh, I know, because I only go thru my reader about every 3 months!) Thanks for the link to IYK!
