One of my blogging goals this year is to really recognize and support other bloggers and their excellent posts. Hence, a new weekly feature – Weekend Wanderings. Here you’ll find a few posts I’ve come across during the week that need to be shared. Read on!
When making my very first month-long menu, I asked for some help. Wow, did I get some help! Many people left ideas and links, but The Prudent Homemaker’s Winter Menu completely blew me away. Organized and beautifully done. You could literally feed your family for months!
This Edible Play Dough Recipe from Myra brings back memories. I’m stashing it for a long winter weekend when I need to be The Best Mom Ever.
I am so excited about Laura’s new series, Becoming a Better Help Meet to Your Husband, even though I have to admit the term help meet makes me giggle every time I read it. I just didn’t grow up hearing that. In fact, I think that’s one of those terms I’d never heard until I started reading blogs. Crazy, huh?
Jen wrote about Encouraging the Little Things, and I read it loud and clear. I’ve had my share of those days, and I’ve also seen my children smile more and be happier helpers when mama notices the little things.
What great posts have you read this week?

I think it’s great what you’re doing. I always try to link to those who inspire me. It’s kind of like recommending a good book. I’ve been enjoying your blog. You motivate me in the kitchen, where I sorely need it.
Recommending a good book. You’re exactly right! And thanks for the sweet comment. If you ever have kitchen-related questions, I’d sure be glad to (try to!) help.
Thank you, thank you, thank you! Besides “needing” more blogs to look at (ha!), I can’t wait to look at the winter menu post. I’ve been wanting to put my favorite family recipes into seasons, but have felt too overwhelmed to begin. Hoping this helps and also gives me more recipe ideas!
thank you, my friend, for the sweet shout out.
There are always so many great blogs that I read in a week.
I’m so glad you liked my winter menu! Come back in the other seasons and enjoy my other menus, too
I think you’ll really like having a month’s menu to look at. I used to categorize my meals by main course. I could say, okay, I feel like chicken tonight and I have some in the freezer; what are the chicken meals I can make? Then I would struggle to come up with side dishes to go with those.
Now, I can look at my menus, see what’s in my garden as well (so it doesn’t go to waste) and plan accordingly. I know what side dishes to make because I’ve already decided on them. It saves me a lot of time.
