Christmas Gift Ideas – Support Small Businesses

by Amy on November 27, 2009

I’ll admit it.  I was in line at Sears at 4:15 this morning.

Black Friday shopping is way different in our neighboring small-town-but-big-enough-for-a-few-stores than it is in a larger place.  But still.  4:15?!  (My $30 pair of Asics will be so worth it, though.)

If throngs of people and retail stores aren’t your thing (not mine either, unless a $30 pair of shoes is at stake!), check out these unique gift ideas and support a small business from the comfort of your own home.

(Psst — Grandma — your granddaughter would be thrilled with a set of Lace & Trace farm animals!)

Right now Kate is offering gift subscriptions for an insanely low price.   Order a Stolen Moments Menu Planning gift subscription. Any busy parent will thank you!

These are both very good looking small businesses. I will definetly check them both out… I love to support small business and WAHM whenever possible. I try and focus on WAHM in my own business. Over half of my inventory is all made by WAHM!!!

Thanks for reminding everyone that small businesses need our business, too! We’ll be supporting our transitional neighborhood’s revitalization by doing a lot of our Christmas shopping at local small businesses. Kids’ presents are coming from the independent children’s bookstore down the street, and I’ll be hitting up boutiques and the green general store for gifts for the adults. And don’t forget Etsy–it has a great “shop local” search feature. It means buying less for each person, but the gifts are better quality and have more meaning.

Here is a unique gift that I cam across while looking for my “hubby who has everything.” I am getting him a block of tech support time for all of his computer and gadget problems. I looked around a bit and decided to go with Tech Caddie, who is currently offering a 20% off of their standard rates: http://techcaddie.com/need-a-unique-gift-idea/
