This is Disney World?

Looking back, I’m pretty sure they thought that our airplane would land right in the middle of Magic Kingdom or something.  “Are we here?  Is this Disney World?  Is this our hotel?!” we heard while still at the airport.

One of the fabulous things about staying at a Walt Disney World Resort (for anyone! not just for the conference) is that complementary Magical Express service to and from the airport is included in your stay.  This includes luggage transportation!  The bags that we dropped off at the airport in Kansas at 5:30 in the morning magically appeared in our room at the Contemporary later that day.  No baggage claim in Florida for the tired family juggling 5 kids.  Yay!

Also, the Magical Express charter bus transported us from the airport directly to our hotel.  No need to rent a car.  No need for car seats.  Did you hear that?  No need to lug around car seats and boosters!   (Amen, right?!)

We loaded the Magical Express and set out to Disney World.  About 45 minutes later, at around 1:00 (now are we here?!) we arrived at the resort.  And that’s when they started to fall apart.  The kids were truly fabulous travelers, but let’s face it.  They’d been awake since 3:30am.  They were hungry, tired, and confused.  The adrenaline and excitement were beginning to fade, and not even The Contemporary was holding their attention.

I checked into the hotel and grabbed our double stroller that I’d reserved from Kingdom Strollers (more on that life saver later).  At this point we absolutely should have gone up to our room for a little decompression time, but since the conference check in was “right around the corner” and since I secretly knew Pooh and Tigger would be there, we lugged all our carry-ons and our tired kids straight to check in.  And yes.  We all pretty much felt like this:

Mistake #1:  Skipping lunch at the airport.

Mistake #2:  Heading straight to conference check in without first gathering our wits in the room.

Dad was in charge of a little Family Pep Talk while I walked away from a certain cranky, ungrateful, older {ahem ~ just keepin’ it real} child for a moment so I wouldn’t lose my cool.  And then, more magic.

The wonderful thing about Tiggers, are Tiggers are wonderful things!  The Disney Social Media Moms crew knows how to throw a welcome party for weary travelers!  There were snacks and drinks (hallelujah!), games, a loaded gift bag, a happy, bouncy Tigger, and a huggable Pooh.

Just what we needed to put a little pep back in our step!  And with that, we headed to our room to gear up for evening activities at Epcot.

  1. Today, I went to the beachfront with my kids.
I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and
said “You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.”
She placed the shell to her ear and screamed.

There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear.
She never wants to go back! LoL I know this is completely off topic but
    I had to tell someone!
