THIS is Basketball {Finer Things Friday}

What with all the vomiting going on around here (yes, again) I nearly forgot about Finer Things Friday until I saw this video and nearly bawled my eyes out!  Drop everything. (If you’re reading this via email you may need to click through to see the video.)

Amazing, right? High school sports sometimes get a bad rap, and well, sometimes they deserve it. This, though… THIS is basketball. Community. Spirit. The FINEST of things!

    Amy,

    My son (who has Asperger’s / high functioning autism), was asking all day to watch this, partially b/c he loves sports like Jason does. We all, after a tough day, sat down to watch it together (my boys and I b/c Dad is at work). After it was over my son asked me several times why I was crying. Because I don’t know which dreams to encourage and which to say “it’s just too much” to. Because I want my son to have some successes after all of the struggles.
    Just because.

    Wow! I’m speechless! How cool of an experience for him, but also for all of the kids at the school… I’m sure it has opened their eyes!
