All I want for my birthday (much of which I am blessed with daily!):
- sleeping in (um… definitely not daily)
- lying awake in my comfy, warm bed
- listening to my family play outside the door while I “sleep”
- a sound, warm roof over my head
- a loving Father to meet our daily needs
- three healthy children
- a doting husband
- an enthusiastic “happy birthday to you” serenade from the kids
- a head to toe massage by my husband (my favorite b-day tradition)
- breakfast made by daddy and the kids
- lunch (leftovers
) prepared by daddy and the kids - hot wax dip treatment for my chapped hands (the Christmas gift that keeps on giving)
- phone calls from family
- a sentimental card with a tear-rendering message written by my mom
- lots of little hugs and tickles
- well-behaved children (please… we have a wedding to attend today!)
- an uninterrupted, hot bubble bath
- three bottles of bubble bath, in three different colors, hand selected by three very different children
- open-mouth smackers from the 1 year old
- choke-hold hugs from the 3 year old
- snuggle time with the 5 year old
- lots of moments that make me smile
- lots of “proud mommy” moments
- “the look” from Lance that says “We Are Blessed”
- unlimited patience
- unlimited energy (oh, am I asking too much?)
- a clean house (oops, I’ve overstepped my bounds)
- a nap (not gonna happen, but I can hope!)
- candles, on something, so the kids can help me blow them out
- a five year old who recognizes that the best gift is being a happy helper
- no fighting… NONE… from anyone
- a sunny, crisp, fall Kansas day
- good buys at the grocery store
- delurking. I love delurking!
