Saturday night was a rough one. After being gone all the live long day for a basketball tournament in an ice storm (but we won, so Yay!), I was ready to crash at 8pm. But I didn’t, of course. I was up messing around in the new kitchen (I know, I owe you pictures!), checking email, taking a bath, and didn’t get to bed until about 11:00. Miss 1 was up, restless and fussing, from about 1:30 on.
In the morning, after we both gave up on sleep, I finally figured out that she had a slight fever, was rubbing her jawline and ears, and must be fighting a bug. (Duh, mom.) I slathered her feet and spine with diluted Thieves essential oil, put some Thieves in the diffuser, and placed (gently! never cram it in) cotton with a drop of Melrose just inside her ears. (Never put any essential oil directly in the ear canal, either!) She never once touched her ears after that.
I continued my slathering while she and I snuggled and dozed on and off until mid-afternoon, but at 2:00 she ate two eggs, a full waffle, and some apples. By evening she was her goofy self, and she slept soundly all night last night. Phew! My only regret is that I didn’t start the oils in the middle of the night and get a head start on healing!
I have story after story about how Thieves and other Young Living Essential Oils have helped our family in the last year and a half, but what I really want is for you to experience it yourself! You’ll be amazed. Actually, I laugh at myself all the time because I’m all “Oh my gosh, it worked!” even though I should know by now that it’s probably going to work. Slow to catch on, I am.
This week I’ve teamed up with four blogging friends for a big Thieves Kit Giveaway!
Though I’ve used the oil for over a year, it was just recently that I finally followed the advice of some trusted friends and took the plunge to invest in other Thieves products. The cleaner is blowing me away. I’m the world’s worst at getting stains out of clothing, and when Miss 1 took a fall and busted her lip a few weeks ago, cleaning it up on my shoulder, I forgot about the blood stain for a few days. (Maybe that’s why I have a hard time removing stains?!) In a “what the heck, may as well” move, I doused the stain with Thieves Household Cleaner before washing it.
If you look real close you can tell my “after” result isn’t quite perfect, but for a days old blood stain? I’ll take it! And wear it! 🙂 Be sure to check out what Thieves cleaner did for my friend Amy’s carpet stains, too. I hope to tackle a few of those myself, today, now that our construction mess is mostly a thing of the past.
