The $5 Dinner Mom Cookbook

I had lunch with a cookbook author yesterday!

Erin from $5 Dinners just so happened to be in Kansas for a wedding over the weekend.  She had a few hours to spare before her flight, so Crystal (Money Saving Mom) and I met her for a long lunch and blogging gab fest.  Such fun!

In addition to lovin’ on her little guy for a couple of hours, I also got a sneak peak at her cookbook!

Confession:  I don’t buy cookbooks. At least, not cookbooks in a bookstore.  If I don’t find them online, I get most of my recipes from small-town church or community collections.

Confession:  I’m going to buy Erin’s Cookbook!  While flipping through the copy that Crystal brought, I quickly realized that this is not your ordinary cookbook. In fact, although I know they are delicious, the 200 included recipes are not even what I’m after.

What makes The $5 Dinner Mom Cookbook unique and helpful is the incredible amount of money-saving tips.  Menu planning, couponing, what prices to look for, how to save on produce and protein, and so much more.  It’s all right there!  Also, Erin breaks down the price of every. single. ingredient in every. single. meal. Sure enough;  no meal is more than $5.

I’m so excited for Erin and can’t wait to own my copy of The $5 Dinner Mom Cookbook!

Wow I’m so jealous but excited for you. $5Dinners was the first site that I ever went on to try to stretch my dollar. From her site, I am now a devoted reader to other blogs, including the Finger Things in Life and Money Saving Mom! I can’t thank all of you for all that you do.
