Before I sign off for a few days of family and food and thanks, I need to tie up some loose ends.

  1. Our daughter’s lab work came back from last week’s surgeryAll moles are benign! Thanks, God!
  2. Subscribe by email. Before I started this little site, I was hesitant to follow that suggestion, because I wasn’t sure what it meant.  (I know ~ I was clueless!)  Let me clear that up for some of you.  If you want to see what I post each day, but you don’t want to have to visit my site, then subscribe by email.  You’ll get an automatic, daily, free email with my blog posts.
  3. There will be no Finer Things Friday post this week.  Taking a break from the computer to give full attention to family is a Finer Thing!
  4. If you’re scrambling for a kid-friendly Thanksgiving dessert, check out Liz’s Thanksgiving Cupcakes.  The cornucopia is my favorite.  So cute!
  5. Erin’s Thanksgiving Leftovers Round-Up is sure to serve me well over the next several weeks (months?!)  There’s a 15 pound bird in my fridge that isn’t getting roasted for Thanksgiving.  (I got a free Butterball turkey thanks to a heads up from Frugal Femina.)  I’ll cook him this weekend and bag the meat for my freezer.
  6. Don’t toss your turkey carcass!  JessieLeigh is hosting a Stock Exchange today.  I’ve only made stock once, so I don’t feel qualified to participate with my own ideas, but you can bet I’ll be checking out the links to get some healthy, nutritious advice from some cooks who know what they’re doing!  (You have to click on the green Mr. Linky button in order to see the links.)
  7. I failed to post the winners of my last two giveaways.  Just in case you’re curious Voices of Christmas went to comment #12, TarenaThe Crayola Color Explosion Glow Dome went to #3, UnfinishedMom.
  8. Don’t forget the 2nd Annual Bloggy Progressive Dinner next week!  You can find the schedule here.

Have a beautiful, blessed Thanksgiving!

Hi Amy. Hope you had a terrific Thanksgiving. Just wanted to stop by and let you know that I took your Turkey tip (cooking the turkey the day before Thanksgiving) and it was so helpful. I did the turkey and the mashed potatoes the day before so yesterday I only had a couple of things to do. Such a great tip. Thank you!

Oh, thanks for letting me know! There are some who think it’s just plain wrong to not to the turkey on Thanksgiving Day, but that method is what works best for our family.
