Taking a Break

They tried to warn me, my friends who got me started with this blogging thing over the summer.  I listened, and I did it anyway.

And I don’t regret it for even a nanosecond.

But they were right:  if you let it, blogging can be an addictive time sucker.

I’m good with that.  Mostly.

But not this week.

Easter is coming, and with that, the meditation and celebration of Holy Week.  I must pry myself from my keyboard for a few days and focus on the big stuff.  The real stuff. The life and death stuff.

Please excuse me while I take a step back from blogging Thursday through Sunday.  There will be no Finer Things Friday this week, but you can bet I’ll have a lot to celebrate when it returns! I sure hope you’ll join me!

In the meantime, I wish for you a quiet, prayerful Holy Week and a joyful Easter celebration.

To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under heaven.

Taking a break from computer stuff to focus on real life stuff works for me.

  1. Have a great break and I look forward to your return:-)

  2. Amy,
I have so enjoyed reading the Finer Things lately–it is my favorite blog right now–it’s the one I can’t miss. I respect you so much for writing this and taking a break. I am still learning how to balance this blogging thing–it’s kind of a hard thing to do! Wishing you a prayerful Triduum.

  3. Good for you 🙂 I took a break with the Unplugging event a week or two ago and it was so wonderful, I think you will love it!

  4. Good for you! I hope that your family has a prayerful Holy Week!

  5. Have a great week. Make the most of your Holy Week!

  6. Yes, blogging can be a time sucker! I’ve been out most of this week, and although I’ve been busy, I’ve enjoyed my break.

Have a great week, and a great Easter, Amy!

  7. Have a great week, Amy!

  9. Have a restful break and a wonderful Easter.

  10. I wish I had your restraint!
