For a winning dessert? What better cake to serve than one called “Skor!” And for a bonus… It starts with a mix! Shhhh, no one has to know.
- 1 yellow cake mix
- 2 eggs
- 1 large box instant chocolate pudding
- 2 cups water
Mix and bake in a 9×13 pan at 350° for 35-45 minutes. Cool completely.
- 1/4 c. melted butter or margarine
- 2 egg yolks
- 1 c. powdered sugar, sifted
- 8 oz. cool whip
- 3 Skor candy bars
Combine butter, egg yolks, and powdered sugar. Fold in cool whip. Spread on cake and top with crushed candy bars. Refrigerate.
** If you can’t find Skor bars, Heath works well… as do Butterfinger.
** I think this cake is best after it’s been in the refrigerator for a day. Perfect for a make-ahead dessert!
** I know some folks are scared off by raw egg yolks. I’ve been eating this cake and serving it up to family and friends for 20 years. Never has it been a problem. Just keep it refrigerated!
