  1. Hi Amy!
I found you through Money Saving Mom and just read your post on Homemaker Barbi.com.
I really enjoyed that article and can really relate. My husband is a teacher/coach as well. We wouldn’t take anything for the choices and sacrifices that we have made for our family to thrive basically on one income. I work part time at our church and love being in preschool ministry and that helps us out!
Glad I found your site and plan to keep following!
    Blessings!

  2. I just read your post and it was so well said!! I agree 100%! We know the Joneses, and believe me, they’re not living any better than us…just more stressed!
My thoughts on living comfortable on one income is live like our parents lived. We never had a brand new car, they waited until they could pay for brand new furniture in full before we got it (and had “hand-me-down” furniture in the meantime) and did the same with clothes. That is why my parents are now retired, 100% debt free and living a very comfortable life… unlike many of their friends. It’s not just now we have to worry about, it’s later on in life, too! We can’t get everything “yesterday”!! We have not missed out on anything living this way…I even think we’re better off… we don’t have the tremendous debt hanging over our head or the tremendous guilt many feel over putting their families and futures in financial jeopardy.
You have some great ideas and great insight! I hope for peoples sake, they start listening!
