Pizza Braid Recipe

Homemade pizza is all the rage these days. We enjoy it, too, but this pizza braid fits the bill for a change up; it’s tasty, easy to prepare, and beautiful!  Serve slices with a salad and you have a lovely, fun meal for company or for family fun night.

  2. This looks absolutely beautiful! I am SUCH a huge pizza fan, I make it a LOT. This would be a fun way to switch it up. Thanks for the idea and the beautiful photos!

  3. Oh, this is such a great idea! I make a chicken broccoli braid, but never really gave much thought to trying different fillings! I’ll definitely give this a try soon!

  4. Oh wow, that is SO PRETTY! I love this idea!

  5. Wow, that looks incredible! Thank you so much for posting the recipe and tutorial. I am trying this out soon. I haven’t gotten around to doing my pizza pockets for the month yet, so maybe I’ll just do a few of these instead.

  6. that looks great!

  7. WOW! Yummmmy! Mouth-watering!

  12. That looks so yummy – and extremely neat! :D

  13. that looks really yummy!

Thanks for stopping by! Oh btw, yes that picture was of my pantry from the beginning of the month. :)

  14. Thanks for the great idea. Looks so much easier than making individual calzones and so much prettier than plain ole pizza. I have done something similar with chili and cheese before, but not pizza toppings.
    Thanks for sharing!

  15. Wow! This is so beautiful. I have gotta try it. Thanks!

  16. Hi! Came over from TMTT.
This looks awesome. I made a braided dish last week but these braids are perfect looking.

  17. Wow! That is georgeous! I’m going to have to try that one for our Friday Pizza Night!

  18. Amy, I am SO glad that you joined us, today at TMTT. How fun. We love getting new folks with great recipes. This looks awesome. I really want to try it. This is a recipe that my hubby will love. Although, I will have to leave the mushrooms off his side. Silly him, he doesn’t like mushrooms. I love them. I do hope you will come back, next week.

  19. Finally a pizza dough recipe that doesn’t involve a bread machine. I’ll have to try this…it looks very impressive!

  20. this looks so good, thanks for the pictures too!

  21. Ooooo….I LOVE this recipe and the photos are wonderful. It makes me want to go bake one right now. Mmmmm…..

  22. Have you ever tried freezing these? I am wondering if they hold up well? Thanks!

  23. WOW! That is beautiful, and looks yummy too!!!

  24. Thanks for the recipe! We loved it. We used pizza sauce instead of tomato and it was great! Thanks again

  25. That is one gorgeous dinner! It looks intimidating, but I
may be brave enough to try it. tfs

  26. This looks SO good. Thanks for sharing.

  27. I just found this recipe through Menu Plan Monday, and it looks great! We make pizza frequently, and this looks like a fun variation.

  28. This looks great! I think I’m going to fit this into my menu plan for the week.

  29. I followed Laura’s link from Meal Plan Monday. I was planning to make homemade pizza Friday night, but I’ve decided to try this. It looks beautiful. Hopefully mine turns out something like it.

  30. What a neat idea. I saw your pretty picture on Org Junkie and had to come over to see the recipe since I can be adventurous at times. I just bought some Trader Joe’s whole wheat pizza dough and froze it, so I’ll have to try this soon. (Except I’ll “vegetarianize” the filling.)

  31. Heather says:

I made this last week and everyone in my family liked it. I’m making another one tonight.

  32. Amy, I made this recipe this week, though totally changed the filling. Delicious and very easy to make. The family wants it again. Soon! Thanks for sharing the recipe and the great pictures. ~~Rhonda

  33. This would be a great variation for our Friday pizza night. Yum, I can’t wait to try it.

  34. great idea! I think I’m going to do this on Friday night. I’m getting tired of just plain ol’ pizza!

  35. I saw this on your menu plan and HAD to try it! We have pizza night usually every Friday…what a great idea to mix it up!

Thanks for sharing! It was a big hit with the fam!!! I used some ham from the deli, mushrooms, and mozzarella. YUMMY!

  36. My husband is in the Marines and I have to make 2 of these when he has to work late haha. They are a hit for the guys :)

  37. Oh my! That looks delicious (and easy!). I wonder….can this be frozen, then baked later? Say, if you just baked it to “set” it, then freeze it and bake later…thoughts? Thanks for re-sharing this!

    • I’ve never tried to freeze it then bake it. I think the dough would be fine, but it’s so big I’m not sure how I would get it all wrapped up for the freezer. Let me know if you try it!

  38. I have to show you this. http://lifeasmom.com/2013/04/fish-shaped-calzone.html I was kinda proud of myself. :)

  39. Hi Amy! The pizza braid looks delicious! I try to make pizza on Friday’s and this would be a nice change! Thanks for sharing the recipe and tutorial! Blessings from Bama!

  40. What kind of flour did you use? It looks like at least partially whole wheat in the pics…

  41. Oh, man! This looks so good! Definitely making this next time rather than our usual pizza. Thanks for sharing.
