Thank you so much. It’s nice to see someone that feels the same way as myself and says so unashamedly. The only election issue addressed by God in the Bible is the sanctity of life and the institution of marriage. Therefore my vote was one for life also.

Well, I’m not American, but I’ve been following the entire election since the primaries, and it most certainly is a frustrating election, full of not-so-great choices (at least, in my humble opinion, as an outsider!).

I like the idea of bringing it down to one major issue, and I think that life is certainly one of the biggest issues that can come into play (it tends not to be an issue in our elections, though we did just recently vote for the Conservatives, who have the strongest pro-life views of any party). Good for you to take a stand on this issue!

I think you know how I feel on this issue already. Thanks for having the courage to write a strong, honest post. Our bishop has written a compelling series over the past month and a half on just this issue. Sometimes you have to focus of the big picture and just faith that the other things will fall into place.

Amen. It has come down to this issue in every election for us as well, and we will continue to pray for a candidate who will defend life–every stage of life.

Remember, God does not give us a spirit of fear. That said, I have to summon courage to stand up sometimes. And that makes it easy for those who oppose my values–if we all remain quiet, we will see more values and morality erode in this country. I used to think one-value voters were too narrow minded. Now I think that LIFE is the only issue I can hang onto. How many votes will not be counted this election because those lives were aborted?

I’m with Kate above – it’s been information overload. But the more I learn about the candidate who does not support life, the harder I pray for the outcome of this election and the future of our country.

Great post. I think that soooo much is going on now and there are so many issues that choosing just one is a good idea- it keeps our minds clear and it doesn’t overwhelm us, thus keeping us out of the voting booth.

I have such respect for you speaking your mind and heart on this matter.

Our one thing is the same. It seems to be getting harder to pick a candidate who thinks the way I do on the life issue. But you’re right, it’s a matter of who will be the best defender of all stages. I haven’t really thought of it in those terms before.

Personally, I’m a little tired of all of the other details this year. Eric has been glued to the news stations in the evenings when he gets home and I’m burnt out on the information overload. I’ll keep reminding myself to remember…one thing, one thing!
