No Worries {Finer Things Friday}

I sometimes default to worry-mode.  It works, right?

Yesterday, my husband’s back went out, completely (poor guy crawled on his hands and knees to get to the bathroom and to bed), and last night at 11:00 I was worried about who would take over his high school boys weight room at 6:30 this morning.  He joked that he’d “be fine by then.”  Bet’cha those boys were surprised to see ME at the crack of dawn.  No worries!

As I was set to walk across to the school at 6:20, I fretted about what would happen when the baby woke up, knowing that he would wake up when I’m gone, and realizing that my husband is temporarily out of commission.  Two minutes later, he woke up and excitedly waved his chubby hand to go “buh buh” with me.  A double treat for the football team. 😉  No worries!

While soaking in the aroma of teenage sweat, I worried about how Lance would get around and how would I ever get him out of the house to an appointment, if I could, in fact, find someone to take a look at him and give the man some drugs already.  Let’s just say that today, more than any other day in the last five years, I am grateful for

  1. a small house
  2. with wood floors
  3. and a desk chair on wheels

No worries!

As for the drugs, after several back and forth phone calls, they decided to call in the prescription without me hauling his miserable self into town to be examined.  Hallelujah!  No worries!

Even better?  A friend was in town and picked up the medication for us.  We never even had to leave the house!  No worries!

This afternoon I got the call that our pork was processed and could we come get it today or tomorrow.  Oh, good.  Me + four children + 110° outside loading and unloading 100(ish) pounds of meat.  That’ll be fun!  I decided to suck it up,  “I’ve got this!” and head out with the youngest two.  15 miles later and three looks at our receipt (after paying), and the teenage girl wearing her Honor Society t-shirt realizes she called me to pick up my meat when it hadn’t even been processed.  What did I tell her?  No worries!

My Finer Thing this week is No Worries!  What’s yours?  Link up and let us know!  (And by the way, do you default to worry mode?  Stop it!)

  1. No worries. That’s me. I don’t stress about much. Although I’m not a worrier, I love the caption at the top. Pretty funny!

  2. charity crawford says:

Gotta love it that’s LIFE! Just take it as it comes no reason to stress about it because you will get no where but where God wants you to be.

  3. I’m going to need a No Worries… once my flight gets off the ground today… hopefully close to on time. (Crazy Chicago flights. Plus crazy Chicago weather.)

  4. Wow….many blessings to be thankful for!! Especially not having to drag a man to a dr. appt in pain, meds delivered AND no meat to have to pick up!! Yay!!! It’s days like those that make us VERY thankful for the quiet, smooth days at home. 🙂

  5. I need to start saying “No worries” myself. 🙂

  6. Wonderful! Glad things are working out for you and your wonderful family.

  7. Love your beautiful perspective here! How easy it would be to say, “Oh, ugh, my husband can’t even take care of ANYTHING now and it’s all on MY shoulders! Oh, and now I have to juggle a baby in the mix? *sigh* What do you mean my meat’s not ready? After I juggled and loaded and got us all here??? *grumble, grumble*” But, really, at the end of the day, it certainly doesn’t help to mope around now, does it? Good for you and your great attitude! (And I sure hope your hubby’s feeling better.)

  8. That is one of my favorite quotes. I remind myself of it often. Glad your day worked out so well. And as always thanks for hosting!

  9. Wishing you a worry free weekend! Thanks for hosting!

  10. My default is NOT No Worries. That is my goal for tomorrow. Thanks for the inspiration.

  11. Man, oh, man am I a worrier. Is there such a thing as productive worrying, though? Sometimes I know I go overboard and stress myself out, but other times I am just plain prepared. (And then other times I’m not haha. C’est la vie.)
