It's a verizon pre-paid plan. I think they don't advertise this one, but you can still get it. We actually took the "big step" of getting another pre-paid phone just so we could both have one on the rare occasion that we're both out of the house. HA! I thin that Alltell just switched (was bought out?) to Verizon. We're really happy. The usage of the phone is mainly for our kid's school to reach us anytime if there is an emergency and some other casual use. The average expense is $100 annually. Do check coverage area before you buy one. Some don't have very much coverage. The best thing about it was when mine was stolen I was able to suspend it and then transfer my number onto a new phone. He originally had one with a plan but realized that he was wasting a lot of his busnesses money with that and went to pre-paid. I don't even have a cell phone and it has worked fine for me.
