Shortly after I wrote this post, Musselman’s contacted me to see if I’d like to sample their new Totally Fruit and Healthy Picks products. They must’ve thought I was working too hard. 
At my doorstep arrived a beautiful package full of applesauce; a four-pack each of six different varieties! I immediately hid the box from the kids, waiting for the right time to share my surprise. Individually packaged, flavored applesauce might not be a big deal at your house, but around here… it’s nearly as fun as Christmas!
The time was right this week as we were faced with a long day and night without daddy. I gathered the kids around their little table and told them we were going to have a party: a taste-testing party.
We opened one cup of each flavor and dug in. One word: YUM. My 6 year old health critic only briefly tried to spoil our fun:
Her: Do they have sugar in them?
Me: No. Just juice.
Her: Does the juice have sugar?
Me: Nope. Just juice.
Her: Good. I hope we have some left so I can take them for lunch at school!
I did my research before going toe to toe with the wise and wondering six-year-old.
Not one to purchase a lot of packaged foods, I can get behind Totally Fruit applesauce.

I’ve tried the raspberry acai and the lime and whatever that fruit is, and they’re pretty good. The blueberry pomegranate seems to be the flavor of the year, so I’d like to try it.

After slaving away at canning my own applesauce for 2 full days this week, i will gladly take some free, nutrituos flavored applesauce – it doesn’t matter what flavor, but the blueberry pomegranate looks good to me too.
