Menu Plan, Week of November 8

by Amy on November 8, 2009

Thank heavens for a full freezer!  We haven’t been home much of the last two days, and this morning after church I had to hightail it to a youth group fundraiser.  There was no time left for cooking.

No, my family didn’t go hungry.  We didn’t even have to get creative!  Thanks to a frozen cavatini made several weeks ago, they got along just fine.  Even if you’re not a big fan of once-a-month cooking or any type of cooking ahead, you might consider doubling your recipes every once in a while and freezing one batch.  It is just so nice to be able to pull something out of the freezer on a hectic day!

Sunday, November 8

  • crescent sausage wraps (made with homemade crescent rolls – a gift from my mom), scrambled eggs with cheese
  • cavatini, sweet corn, cheesy Texas Toast
  • popcorn, apples

Weekday Breakfasts – oatmeal with raisins, lazy granola, eggs (fried or scrambled) and toast or muffins, French toast

Weekday Lunches – leftovers, peanut butter and honey sandwiches, grilled cheese, fresh fruit and veggies, cheese and crackers, quesadillas

Suppertime

Saturday, November 14

  • waffles with homemade pomegranate syrup, scrambled eggs, bacon
  • sandwiches/snacks on the road to a football game
  • clean out the fridge

Ooh that Cavatini looks good. I was looking for a recipe that would hold us over a couple of meals! I think that will do it! Does it freeze well do you know?

I freeze it all the time. In fact, I never make it without freezing some. It makes a bunch!

Mmmm, your menu looks good. We need to do chili with corn chips sometime, that’s a good idea!

How funny! Your Cavatini recipe is one of my family’s very FAVORITE freezer meals, and I just pulled one out of the freezer this week, on one of our busy days! It’s perfect! Nutritious, yummy, and so very easy!!!
