It’s beginning to feel a lot like Christmas…
Good grief, I can’t get warm today! The weather warnings have begun, although all there is to see is cold and dreary right now. As far as I’m concerned, if it’s going to be cold and miserable it may as well snow so we at least have something pretty to look at.
Here’s what we’re eating this week. Hopefully it will warm me up!
Sunday, December 6
- lazy granola with dried cherries
- cavatini, salad, corn, holiday dinner rolls (pulled the cavatini and dinner rolls out of the freezer last night ~ so nice to not have to “cook” but still have a big Sunday meal)
- chili and chicken noodle soup at a tiny town (but not our tiny town!) Christmas parade/community dinner
Weekday Breakfasts
- eggs (fried/scrambled with cheese) with muffins or toast
- coffee cake with apple pie filling ~ This is a new2me recipe from Make Ahead Meals for Busy Moms
. Be sure to come back Wednesday for my cookbook review and giveaway!
- pizza omelet
- oatmeal with raisins or cherries
Weekday Lunches
- leftovers
- sandwiches (peanut butter & honey or grilled cheese) with carrot sticks and fresh fruit
- quesadillas
Suppertime
- brown bag burritos topped with lettuce and cheese, corn bread muffins (didn’t get to this last week)
- loaded baked potato soup (didn’t get to this last week, either; ended up making turkey/rice soup)
- turkey pot pie – Liz’s recipe looks really yummy, but I don’t have the stuffing mix, so I’ll probably do a double crust this time.
- bacon, egg, and spinach quiche with fruit
- sandwiches and snacks for the ball game
Saturday, December 12
- french toast with blueberry pomegranate syrup
- community soup and pie lunch
- popcorn, fruit, and special hot cocoa
I’m also hoping to get some more holiday baking done this week, starting with Christmas Bark from Make Ahead Meals for Busy Moms. Looks easy and delicious!

I’m thinking I should try your brown bag burritos, they sound and look so yummy! Great menu!
Thanks! They are so nice to have on hand in the freezer for a quick lunch, too.
Hey, Amy! Love your menu this week! I”m trying to get started on the menu planning bandwagon, as I’ve fallen off. I’m off looking for more ideas. Can’t wait to hear about the review!
Have a great week!
Sherry
