mpm3 Menu Plan, Week of August 3

We’ve got a getaway planned for much of this week, so the next two days are all about using up what’s in the fridge.  No grocery shopping needed.  :)   That will be just fine considering the rather bountiful meals we consumed over the weekend!

Saturday

Sunday

Monday

Tuesday

  • french toast with peaches
  • smoothies, fruit, veggies… whatever remotely perishable and healthy item I can stuff in my children, because they are headed to grandma’s house for three days!  ;-)
  • what’s cookin’, grandma?

Wednesday – Lance and I are hittin’ the road early.  I’ll pack breakfast.

  • bacon/egg/cheese sandwiches, fruit, chocolate zucchini muffins
  • And then… I don’t have to cook for three days!

The Happy Housewife is hosting Menu Plan Monday this week.  Go see what’s cookin’!

Great looking week Amy! I can’t wait until things cool off around here and we can start making cinnamon rolls again, they are a favorite around here!

You mentioned that the cinnamon rolls were from the freezer. Do you freeze them cooked and frosted?

@Wendy, Yes — I do freeze them cooked and frosted. Just like leftovers. :) Really want to try freezing them before baking sometime, just to see what it would be like to pop a few at a time out of the freezer for fresh rolls. Haven’t attempted that yet.

When you freeze them after baking, be sure to eat them within a couple of weeks so they don’t dry out in the freezer.

@Amy @ Finer Things,

thnx for asking this wendy–so when you thaw them do you just thaw and eat at room temp or then reheat them??

@JessieGinAZ, I like to zap them in the microwave for about 15 seconds. You don’t even have to thaw them. They can go straight from the freezer to the microwave. Very handy!
