May Clutter Update

While I can’t call May a total clutter fail, it’s certainly nothing to brag about.  I definitely need some overdrive to catch up in June!  Here are my numbers.  This month, everything went straight to the trash.

  • Lots of little toys while cleaning bedrooms – 15
  • Undergarments with stains and holes (ahem) – 7
  • Socks with no matches – 5 (and plenty more where those came from)
  • Pair of Shoes, falling apart – 1
  • Old car seat – 1 (really old, like 15 years old, given to us as an “extra” from well-meaning friends)  *** Did you know that car seats have expiration dates?

May total:  29

2010 total:  318

412 to go — I should definitely be over 1/2 way when we report July 1!

  1. I haven’t been doing this on my blog, but I wanted to share that in the last month and a half we have taken at least 20 boxes to the Goodwill!!! I also sold some things on my MIL’s garage sale. I finally decided to let go and not worry about a garage sale for now, since it would take some more precious time that I don’t really have to spare right now. I’m just so glad for the progress I’ve made! I’ve still got a ways to go, but we’re getting there.

  2. You are doing such a great job:-)

  3. Yeah, I didn’ thave much this month either. My daughter overhauled her room. She was getting rid of a lot of things that didn’t appeal to her anymore as she is growing up. 🙁

  4. I’m late to the ball, but I’ve been slowly trying to declutter my home. This is a great incentive!

  5. My mom is helping me so much, I don’t know why, but I have so much less motivation when I declutter alone. I linked up above to show before and afters of my kitchen. It doesn’t show everything, but all my cupboards are decluttered inside. I’m ashamed to say this, but I had a lot of out dated items toward the back of my pantry and cupboards that I had to pitch. We went through and dated things with a black marker and put the ones that needed to be used toward the front of the cupboard. Dishes and extras were put in a garage sale..

  6. 29 is not a fail! Try 4 items! (That was all I got rid of in April!!) This is so much fun! I enjoy writing my post and seeing in writing what I’ve accomplished and it’s fun reading other posts too!! 🙂

  7. I’m late to the challenge but loving it. I’ve got newbieitis big style so things are flying out of my door at the moment. I’ll ride the enthusiasm while it lasts!

  8. I’m so glad you’re doing this! It’s kept my motivation up knowing i can come and post totals.
