Make Your Own Pizza Buffet

Need entertainment, a cooking lesson, and lunch all-in-one?  My children and their friends have a great messy time with Mom’s Make-Your-Own Pizza Buffet.

I start with a batch of No-Rise Pizza Crust.  Split the dough into individual balls and let the kids have at it, squishing it into their initials, favorite animals, or perfectionist mini-pizza.

Line up the sauce and a variety of toppings in individual dishes.  Notice the lack of veggies here… I knew better.  It is kids’ choice, after all!

They pile on the toppings, I bake, we all eat.

It’s messy.  It’s more work than the do-it-myself version.  It takes a little extra time and a lotta extra clean-up.  But… they have fun, and with a side of carrot sticks and fresh fruit, they devour a pretty healthy lunch.  Works for me!

***And yes, yes it does taste better when we assemble pizzas in our sparkly pink dress-up clothes and while squatting on the table.  ;) ***

What fun things do you do with your food?

Childhood just wouldn’t be the same without the freedom to be messy! And, ahem, I believe just about ANYTHING is better in sparkly pink dress-up clothes… and silver heels. ;)

Ok just wanted to be clear on the feet on the table thing. And duh, pink sparkles mke everything better!

We do this all the time – especially when friends are over because everyone’s tastes differ.

  7. That looks so fun!! And I bet that when your kids are grown up, these are the types of moments they’ll remember and appreciate. :)
