Main Dish for Holiday Dinners

Just call me a rebel.  Instead of preparing a dinner entrée for the Third Annual Bloggy Progressive Dinner, I’ve decided on a brunch entrée. Actually, because of our schedules, it’s quite likely that my side of the family will be celebrating our big holiday meal with brunch the day after Christmas.

Cranberry Almond Stuffed French Toast would be a great addition to any brunch, but especially for the holidays with it’s flavorful red topping and the convenience of assembling it the night before.  Simply bake and serve in the morning!

Just in case brunch isn’t your thing, here are two of our favorite “fancy dinner” main dishes:

  1. We always have Baked Ziti on our holiday table. It’s a nice Italian addition to our Southern holiday.

    We also do a holiday brunch. Amy, your casserole looks fantastic; it might be my addition to our Christmas Eve brunch this year!

  2. We usually have vegetarian lasagna, but sometimes we go for the Tofurky roast. I actually prefer the leftover Tofurky sandwiches. The brunch meal looks great, we almost always have our “dinner” around brunch or lunchtime.

  5. I LOVE stuffed french toast, and typically do it with fruit but have never tried it with cranberries. Sounds delicious. 🙂
