I’m not crazy about fast food, but send me on an occasional errand at happy hour and you very well may find me in line for my favorite Lemon Berry Slush. When the Sara Lee Sweet Treats Blogger Program asked me to create a recipe with their iconic pound cake, we decided to take the lemon berry flavor and make it dessert!
Lemon Berry Trifle
Sara Lee pound cake
prepared lemon pudding (we used leftovers from our last Layered Lemon Delight)
Cube the pound cake. Wash produce. Slice strawberries. In individual glasses (or a large, clear bowl) layer cake, pudding, and berries. Repeat layers. Chill until served.
I know, I know. Those of you who like measurements are sorely disappointed in me, but this is how we roll! If you have leftover berries and pudding, make a fruit salad. Or, if you have leftover berries and pound cake, make some shortcake. It’s all good!
This is a great (non)recipe for the kids to help with. Just cube the cake and let them have at it!
Do you know my happy hour joy? What’s your favorite treat?
