Learn the States and Postal Abbreviations

Having fun, educational activities available for my kids throughout the summer works for me.

My friend Joy (she designed my blog!) is not only uber-talented in all things tech-design; she is also an incredible home-schooling, piano-teaching mom of three with tons of resources available on her blog.

In a nutshell, Joy’s posts make me wish we were homeschooling.  Almost.

Joy has just written her first ebook, Learn the States and Postal Abbreviations.  Complete with a map, flash-cards, and a thorough “how-to”, Joy makes it fun for the student(s) and easy on the teacher.  Let me tell you a little secret… you don’t have to be a home-schooling family to enjoy this ebook!

While my children are a little young to master the concepts, we’ve enjoyed studying the map and using the states flash cards for reading practice.  The rest will come soon enough!

Joy’s ebook sells for only $5.95, but she’s offering a special price for my readers.  When you order the book, enter the code FINERTHINGS and receive it for only $2.95!  Hurry, this special price is good only through June 19.  Go here to order your copy.

Good news!  Joy gave me one book to give away! To enter, let me know in the comments if you’re a homeschooling family (just to salve my curiosity; will have nothing to do with your winning the book) and I’ll have random.com pick a winner Sunday, June 14, at 9pm CST.

Hi there! I am a homeschooling mom of two, 9 and 8. They are a joy to be teaching, and I am so thankful that the Lord has given us this opportunity to teach them at home.

I would love to win this book being offered…it sounds so fun and educational, and I think my kids would love it!

Thank you so much for your blog! It is a great learning tool for me, as I learn how to be a good steward of our home, time, and money.

Blessings!

Although we don’t homeschool, we are constantly studying the Bible together, reading a book together, or working on a project.

I’d love to use this book as one of our learning projects!

Hi Amy — Recently discovered your site and it’s great! I’d love to win the book. I do not home school my two sons.

P.S. Thanks for all the great recipes. I tried the Baked Beans one and my family enjoyed it, so I made it for my son’s b-day party and it was a huge hit there as well! I was asked to bring it to another family party in July. :)

Take care,
Karen

I homeschool my kids! Two out of four right now but next year it will be three kids to homeschool. My 9yr. old is in the process of learning her states and capitals right now. What a great resource!
I enjoy your blog!

We hope to start homeschooling in a few years . . . for now, we’re just running around outside and making block towers and stirring muffin batter and stuffing animals in the toilet, like I posted about earlier today. You know how it goes. :>)

We don’t homeschool, but this would be perfect to do over the summer.

I love getting ideas and recipes from your blog.

We are on the fence – “homeschooled” for 3yold preschool and will again for 4s, but in less than a year we have to make the kindergarten decision. Yikes! I don’t know if I have the discipline and self-sacrifice it will take to be a “real” homeschooling family. And my extended family would think I’m more nuts than they already do… but I’d love to win this book either way! :)

What a fun activity for the summer! We are a home educating family. In the fall we will have 6th grader, 4th grader, and a preschooler. None of the kids have ever attended school. We all love learning at home.

Just found your site and am enjoying it. My wife and I did not homeschool but did supplement the schooling our kids received.

I love the idea of the Zip code book and want it for ME.
