Laundry Laughs {Finer Things Friday}

Laugh or cry, right?  The laundry around here is insane!

This morning as I was folding and sorting into piles, it hit me again.  1,2,3,4,5,6,SEVEN.  We have SEVEN piles of laundry for SEVEN different people in this house.

And then I laughed at the sheer craziness of it all.

There are seven people living in my home.

Seven.  Who would have thought?!

Nothing (nothing!) better than the happy chaos and large, never-ending laundry piles for a family of seven.

  1. Try packing all that up once a week to go to the laundromat! That’s what I did each week with my Mom for our family of seven while growing up. Our house septic system couldn’t handle a washing machine, so each week we did a HUGE pile of laundry at the laundromat. And yes–I totally understand and can still picture the seven piles of laundry, the piles of towels, the piles of bedding. The first thing I made my husband do when we bought our house and no longer rented–buy a washer and dryer! Now with two kiddos, I thoroughly love my washer and dryer set. (Oh, and btw, we only had one bathroom too growing up!)

  2. how about hearing from the elementary school that your kid fell AGAIN and has potentially broke her wrist…
    Yep, so i raced up to school yesterday and spent the afternoon at x-ray place and got into c an ortho dr today to put cast on…..

  3. Wow, can’t imagine. The laundry piles seem daunting with just the three of us 🙂

    We are getting ready for big 4th birthday here this weekend. Looks like the weather is going to be ok so family can travel to come. (Last year blowing snow kept some family from making it). So I’m cleaning and sneaking downstairs to work on birthday projects today. Cake decorating tonight.

  4. Love it! I hope the Lord allows us to have seven piles one of these years (maybe by then someone can help me with the folding?? I have a hard time keeping up with laundry for 5!). 🙂

  5. It seems I often have that many piles for only 2 people! I had some car trouble today, so I got to stay home from work and work on keeping our house warm with the wood stove and getting caught up on my cleaning and sewing.

  6. Godscharacer says:

    I absolutely hate folding clothes so doing laundry is dreaded in my house. I just can’t imagine doing laundry for 7 people. You seriously need a medal 🙂

  7. Whoever invented laundry should be shot. Just kidding. It really is AWFUL though. AND it NEVER ends!! I better go switch around my laundry right now… gym clothes must get dried.
