Just Reading, Mom

Moms of toddlers. Silence may be golden to rest of the world, but it is cause for alarm (or at the very least, an investigation) in our homes, am I right?

Silence is what sent me on an early morning hunt an hour ago.

And I found this.

Tucked away in her new hand-me-down bedroom, in the back corner of the house.

Baby at her side. Book in hand.

Just reading, Mom. No cause for alarm here!

  1. Yes, it is!!! She is adorable!

  2. What a cutie!!

  3. Gasp! That’s Penny the Hen! We’ve had that book since my oldest was a baby and all three of mine have LOVED it! One of our faves, for sure.

    • It IS! I think it may have been a shower gift for our oldest, and it’s always a favorite. They love the bunny peeking out of the fence. ;)

What a sweetie! You have taught her well. A love of reading is one of the best gifts we can give to our children!

She looks like my oldest daughter did at her age, and my two grand-daughters.

  5. How adorable! Silence moves me to action faster than noise, for sure! My “baby” (3 yo) just asked “who is that, mom” and I said, “that’s a baby reading a book” and she said, “she’s not a baby, she’s a big girl” …how do they grow up so fast?!

  6. Meredith says:

    Adorable!

Seeing (and hearing!) my girls read is one of most wonderful sights to behold, especially as my 6yo will read stories to her 5yo sister, and even to our 1yo if she’ll be still long enough to listen rather than just try to turn the pages. :)
