Finally. Just a glimmer, but my hope is restored. Perhaps I will gain some nesting energy before this baby arrives in 5-7 weeks! I’m still behind, but after two months of virtually nothing to report, at least I filled a couple of boxes in my effort to rid our home of 730 unnecessary items.
While I usually try to stash things away for the next garage sale, sell items on ebay, or take boxes to the consignment shop to see if I can get any money out of them, this month… I didn’t care. I wanted rid of things, and I wanted rid of them now! (perhaps another sign of impending nesting energy?!)

Baby will be here before you know it! Wow!
Great job this month!
I can totally relate to not caring about getting any money for it, just wanting it GONE! Since I have such major clutter issues, the “what if it’s worth something?” dilemma can be paralyzing.
@Nony the Slob, For my husband, it’s the “what if we NEED this someday… 20 years down the road…” that is paralyzing. Drives me crazy, but we have to find a balance.
This summer, it’s about getting it GONE too! I didn’t have energy to do my annual carport sale or try consigning…I just donated to a great cause! Friends in our church are adopting and had a fundraising yard sale….I got rid of a truck load. I wish I had counted how many items but I just tossed in all the boxes (and baby walker) and drove off. I love coming home to empty space!!
@Julie H, What a blessing for all of you! I wish someone would have a fundraiser sale here… that would be great motivation for me!
I am sure the nesting will kick in soon for you, at least it always did for me. My house is never cleaner than when I am ready to have a baby.
Keep up the good work.
I’m loving this challenge! I’m going to put my post link here because I can’t find the linky.

Never mind. It magically appeared after I commented….
I was dreading posting on ebay or trying to sell at a yardsale or elsewhere when I realized the tax deduction that I can claim after donating everything I have to the good will or salvation army is much more than I would make at a yardsale (or elsewhere) plus I don’t have to organize and price everything. Not to mention setting up and sitting there for two days with two young boys!
@Keli, The tax deduction is a nice incentive!
Good job, Amy! Keep at it and you’ll reach your goal. I agree that it’s better to get the stuff out and let someone else benefit from it than to take on the task of planning a yard sale.
