In Which Amy Actually Completes a Project {with a $50 Walmart Giftcard giveaway for 3 of you!}

(Winners chosen from 308 entries:  1) Bethany ~ ambkpreston@ 2) Renee ~ renee_ruder@ 3) Kristen ~ couponboss@)

As the Queen of Good intentions, I often have many projects started and a few halfway done, sometimes only in my head.  The lovely portraits we had taken “just” 18 months and one baby ago have danced around in my brain and on my computer screen for that long, which is why I was thrilled when HP contacted me to participate in their Summer Photo Fun Giveaway!

I was really proud of this wall… two and a half years ago!

My assignment was to “create photo products to brighten up your home – Mounted Photos, Premium Canvases, Prints and more,” and I did just that, mere minutes (I can’t make this stuff up, friends) before my computer crashed Friday evening.

Please don’t look at my “after” with a designer or decorator lens, because those I am not.  I’m just a mom who is happy happy happy to have all of her people on her walls!

And let’s just get this out of the way right now.  Whyyyyyyyyy did I wait so long?!

Family Photos

I smile every time I walk by my (already needs updated, but whatever) wall!  I went with prints because I know that we need new photos to add Miss 1, and Miss 10 wants an asap update sans braces.  These photos may not last long in this space (but who knows? they may be on this very wall 5 years from now with my track record!)

I’d love to do a large canvas for the family photo sometime, but I want all of us to be in that one.  I did make a faux canvas, though, and am so excited about it!  The digital download of my “family rules” canvas came from the All Our Days Etsy shop.

In addition to what you see on my walls (Yes, there’s more!) I ordered a mounted photo of all the grandkids for my in-laws, updated YEARS OLD (nothing should surprise you by now) 5×7 cousin prints for our own frames, individual 8×10 and 5×7 prints of the kids to momentarily satisfy both sets of grandparents, and some random prints to put in empty collage frames I have around the house.  Ahem.  I’m a work in progress.

My imperfect, non-decorator, whatever works self is just. so. excited. about the new look!

How would you update your walls with someone else’s money?  I am thrilled to share the HP Summer Photo Fun with you!  Three of you will win $50 Walmart gift cards to help wake up your own walls!  To enter, simply fill out the form below with your name and email.

Giveaway ends Friday, September 13 at 11:59 pm, CST.  US addresses only and 18 years and older, please.  Three winners will be randomly chosen and notified by email.

Disclosure:  I wrote this review while participating in a program on behalf of HP and received a Walmart gift card as part of my participation.

  1. You’ve inspired me! While I manage to be crafty on a semi-regular basis, I’m interior decorating deficient! But I think I could handle this. Thanks 🙂

  2. There is one whole wall my living room that is blank. Totally blank. I would buy something to put on that wall. I am not sure what it needs but anything would be better than a white wall. 🙂 Thanks for the contest!

  3. Sheila Laurence says:

I love those pictures (especially the colors you wore)!

  4. The wall looks great! I really need to update the pictures in my house also.

  5. i LOVE looking at online shops for wall decorations….I recently bought a canvas type frame to put “more recent” pictures above our fireplace…which i just recently got painted a different color….13 years later after living in this house….BUT HEY! WHOSE COUNTING RIGHT??? so any MORE HELP would be greatly appreciated!!!

  6. Was just looking at one of my walls with pics of the kiddos from our first Christmas as a family (we adopted them from Vietnam 7.5 years ago). Opposite that wall is their “baby” pics from when we first brought them home at 3 1/2 years of age. Torn between needing to update and loving the memories. Love the updated wall of your family. Guess it is time to let my kiddos grow up too!

    • Oooo, I would have a hard time taking those down, too! Maybe have a “memories” wall and another that you keep updated?

I love the pictures! I have bare walls and really need to do something like this

  8. Looks awesome! I love how all the pics are now on the one wall! Nice spacing, too!
