If you don’t have it, don’t spend it.
Christmas is coming, and all around me, both online and off, I’m already hearing the stressed-out sighs of people who are spending money they don’t have, on gifts that nobody needs. Where’s the joy in that?!
I know we live in a rocky economy. I know there are many (too many) jobs already lost or in danger of being so. I know it’s nearly impossible to sell a home in some locations.
You know what else I know? I know we have the freedom of choice. You can choose handmade or homemade. You can choose a low-key holiday. You can choose to focus on the Finer Things and forget the frivolity. You can choose simple over spendy.
Christmas does not have to put you in debt.
