I even bought a ticket in October, but sold it when I knew that nausea and traveling wouldn’t mix. That I wouldn’t get my 4 hour nap on the weekend. That I likely couldn’t have hashbrowns or apples and peanut butter for every meal. That survival mode and dressing to impress do not go hand in hand. That dressing in anything at this stage is either too tight or too frumpy.
So for this year? I’m embracing my own Bliss. It looks like this.
(14 weeks. Due in August!)
My Bliss also looks like this, and sounds like a big sister reading books to her little brother and sister before bed. My bliss is pancakes with blueberry topping, and my comfy recliner. It’s my own bed and sleeping in on Saturday morning.
Funny/absolutely embarrassing story: I was 8 weeks pregnant when I attended Blissdom in 2010 (and had only told 2 close friends), and was just beginning my struggle with food aversions. Liz from Hoosier Homemade, yes, THE Cupcake Lady, brought us custom made cupcakes… and I couldn’t even look at them! Had to leave the room, I kid you not, without touching a cupcake! I felt so bad, and never got to enjoy my Butterfinger Cupcake, and I’m certain everyone thought I was completely out of my mind. Good grief.
Tonight, in lieu of Finer Things Friday, I’m participating in Found My Bliss. Join us, won’t you? Wherever you are, and whatever your circumstance, there is something to celebrate. Tell us about it! What is your Bliss?
