I Da Best Mom Ever!

And you are, too.  😉   The “Best (insert name) Ever” phenomenon was welcomed into our household one evening as the kids were playing Go Fish with dad.  The boy requested a card, dad handed it over, and much to the delight of our funny bones the boy exclaimed “Daddy, you da best dad EVER!”

And the game continued.

Then daddy needed a card from the boy.  After thanking the boy for said card, boy exclaims “Yeah.  I da best (insert name) EVER!”

From that day forward, we can’t seem to do anything around here without being The Best Ever, and that is really working for me!

I’ve been The Best Mom Ever for…

  • reading an extra chapter of The Boxcar Children before bed
  • serving up green beans for supper
  • allowing the savages a few carrot slices as I prepare vegetable soup for supper
  • pouring bubbles into the bath
  • serving ranch dip with fresh veggies

My favorite thing about being Da Best?  It doesn’t cost me a thing.  Being Da Best has nothing to do with buying my kids anything or taking them anywhere special.  Special is at home.  Special is our ordinary.

And it’s not just me.  It’s contagious!  Daddy’s the best.  Sister’s the best.  Brother’s the best.  Baby’s the best!  Just like negativity can spread like wildfire and bring the mood of the whole house down, fun positives can also ripple through and make our family unit Da Best place to be.

Now go tell your family that they are “Da Best Family EVER!
