Help for Haiti: What Can You Do?

There is a snowball-turned-boulder rolling through the blogosphere today that makes me so proud to be a part of this community.

We’re not just agonizing over the devastation in Haiti, we’re doing something about it, and you can, too!

Head over to Money Saving Mom for the full details and a few reputable charities that you can feel safe giving your money to, but the gist of it is this:  bloggers all over the place are donating money for link-ups and comments. Forgo the computer guilt today and leave comments all over the place to increase donations.

As for me and my house?  I purchased 3 of these necklaces from The Rusted Chain this morning, because I am Blessed. Beki is donating nearly half the price of each necklace to Haiti Disaster Relief.  My family will also give $1 for each comment or link-up on this post, up to $100.

If you have money to give, no matter how much or how little, please find a way to give it.  Then, link up here and at other blogs to build the boulder.

If you don’t, that’s okay.  You can still help!

  1. Pray for the people of Haiti.
  2. Comment here and on all the blogs participating in the drive over at Money Saving Mom.
  3. Spread the word on Twitter, Facebook, and your own blog if you have one.

Do not lay up for yourselves and earthly treasure… Make it your practice instead to store up heavenly treasure… Remember, where your treasure is, your heart is also. Matthew 6:19-21

  3. Thank you. I am off to visit more blogs and buy a “Blessed” necklace, because I too, am so blessed.

  4. We are donating through Compassion….

  5. We donated to the US fund for UNICEF and also to a local (Kentucky)-based charity called Ten Kids whose goal is to provide a safe home, education, etc. to Ten Kids http://www.tenkids.org/. I like the idea of giving to an organization meeting general needs of the people of Haiti and to one meeting the needs of specific children. We are so blessed–I can’t imagine the losses of the Haitian people.

  6. Praying for the Haitians, and off to visit more blogs that are donating money for comments!
