Graham Cracker Crust

by Amy on April 6, 2009

When I walked by the graham cracker pie crusts in the store last week, I glanced at the price tag and realized that this is yet another convenience food that I could probably make a little healthier and a lot cheaper on my own.  A little effort goes a long way…  I can make three graham cracker crusts for the price of one premade.

Graham Cracker Crust

  • 1 1/2 c. graham cracker crumbs (about one package within the box)
  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 6 T. melted butter

Crush graham crackers in a plastic bag with a rolling pin, or in a food processor.  Combine the crumbs and sugar.  Mix in the butter.  Press into 9 in. pie plate.  Bake at 350° for 8-10 minutes.

Easy as pie.  ;-)   And yummy with this cheesecake filling!

YUMMY! I like homemade graham cracker crusts and they are so simple to make, and taste much better too. I almost always fill ours with chocolate mousse pie.

How true. I bet the cost of one box of crackers that will make 3 pie crusts is the price of one ready crust. I don’t know that, but I know making them is cheaper. I love graham crusts with just about anything.
