God’s Got It!

A little unrehearsed, unedited, imperfect, blurry (for the first few seconds), impromptu bedtime reminder:

My God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus.

I know these things, I really do, but reminders are good.

According to HIS glorious riches.

  • If we hadn’t run to the city the day before leaving for Texas, we never would have known that the air-co didn’t work until a couple hours into the 7 hour drive.
  • If we had sleuthed out the leak (transmission!) we wouldn’t have gone to Texas at all.  The transmission still would have gone out, but 1) where?! 2) when?! and 3) we would have been without a vehicle at all.
  • Our intention was to go to the city in Lance’s pickup to haul home a new oven/microwave that Friday, but the deal fell through at the last minute.  Thank goodness.
  • If I had paid attention to my husband (bwahahaha — we’re still laughing about that one) and exited west instead of east, we would never have made it to his cousin’s and who knows where we would have been stranded.
  • God closed doors right and left with the sale of one of our choices and the paint job of another, eliminating unnecessary miles, time, and decisions.  Yay!
  • The van we were hoping to keep for another 100,000 miles.  Well, {sniff}, that didn’t happen, but we know there’s a reason and we’re glad it’s in good hands.  We don’t have to understand it for it to be good.

You know this isn’t really about our suburban story, right?  Whatever situation we’re in, whatever decisions or fears we face, whatever seems in the present so very wrong in life, we have to remember ~

God’s Got It!

And that, my friends, is a Finer Thing!  (Give it to Him!)

What Finer Things are you celebrating this week?  Link up and let us know!

  1. So, so true! Yet somehow, sometimes it is so hard to remember that and not worry about all the things He is working out!

  2. What a great video! They are so cute! And I love all that energy! Thanks for sharing and hosting.

  3. Love the vid clip! The little guy certainly has the spirit of the song!

  4. Rebecca says:

Thanks for sharing the video. I made the girls and I smile. You have a wonderful family; thank you for sharing your time with us when we are there.

    • Your visits are one of our summer highlights! Wish we could’ve been around more. Bad timing on the basketball tournament…

  5. Lenetta says:

Love. This. And i know just what you mean, after having watched my father-in-law’s illness and death, to the barn burning down, to this little squirmy worm in my belly now. (i felt the most distinct rolliver this morning!) let these things remind us how much better life turns out when we remember we’re not in control! xoxo

  6. kathleen says:

This message is so true and I needed to here it today, thank you! I have been going though stuff and get discouraged, but then I smack myself around alittle( mentally of course) and remind myself give it to God He’s got it! So far at ever twist and turn He has been there he wouldn’t leave me now. Thank you Lord for always having my back!

  7. Awesome! My kids had the same program this summer, so I can’t wait to show them other kids in Kansas singing it too. 🙂 And of course, the littlest is just precious with “God’s Got It” chants.

  8. Amen. The hardest thing to do for me at the moment is to relax and give it to Him, and remember that His schedule is not the same as mine.

  9. The littlest punkin made me laugh out loud.

He knows what we need; He is ordering the details of our lives. What a GOOD God we serve!

    • He cracks us up daily, and shocks us with his vocabulary. Yesterday he heard some beeping (from a forgotten game in another room), looked at me and *demanded* “MomMom, turn dat off!”

  10. Thank you for sharing!! Seeing children’s faith ( and enthusiasm ) is so precious!! God is good, all the time. All the time, God is good!!

  11. Love the young talent! Thanks for hosting, and have a blessed weekend.

  12. Love this post – so true! And that is the CUTEST video. I’m sure your kids will love seeing that in a few years 🙂

  13. Thanks for posting–shared a little about the zoo today.

I have really enjoyed your post about car shopping. I am a reluctant car shopper, and we did our shopping for our van last year a week after I gave birth to our twins. Definitely God was in that, but I did not enjoy the process! Sounds like you’re almost ready for that little one! I know you’re in the “can’t wait” phase. I am praying for a smooth delivery for this little blessing.

  14. How sweet! Is it great how kids can just put everything into perspective?

    Thanks for the link up:)

  15. It was so uplifting (and hilarious, and fun) to read this whole story! Thanks very much for sharing it in detail. Who knows? Maybe your van dying, so your mechanic would buy it, was God’s way of supplying your mechanic’s needs.

  16. I’m not a regular commenter (and not always even a regular reader), but I just had to say Amen to this. It was great reading your story day by day, and I just have to affirm you as you’ve realized God’s hand in it all, and choose to declare it. Beautiful. And thank you!

  17. This is the same VBS that St. Thomas More in Manhattan used this summer! I got to sub one day in the music room and got to make up and teach the actions to this song! Looks like your kids loved it as much as the kids up here =)
