Giving Opportunities

As a result of participating in the 30-Day Giving Challenge, or perhaps it’s because the holidays are rapidly approaching, I’ve become more aware of giving opportunities all around.  Many require little or no money to make a big difference in someone’s life.

Here are two that I encourage you to take action on today.

One chance to give involves nothing more than the click of your mouse.

 Giving Opportunities

Click to help fight cancer, stop child abuse, end animal cruelty, feed the poor, and shelter the homeless.

  1. Click on the ‘Click to Give’ button associated with each organization.
  2. A click is then registered in our system of which every dollar made by the advertising shown on the ‘Thank You’ page, goes directly to that charity you were wanting to help.

Visit the site daily, and click to give!

Another opportunity I’ve come across will directly help my friend Joy’s cousin.  There’s something about my money going directly to a family without getting lost in red tape that appeals to me.  Here’s what Joy has to say about her cousin:

She’s a homeschooling mom of 6 (ages 4-15) and her husband has been out of work for about 6 months and has been unable to find any employment at all beyond odd jobs here and there.  Food-wise they’re doing okay since they have a large garden and have been able to get on food stamps. Their biggest need right now is cash to pay for rent, electricity, gas, etc.

To raise funds for her cousin’s family, Joy has tapped into her own talents.  She is  ’selling’ her e-book, Learn the States and Postal Abbreviations, for a donation of any amount, and all of the proceeds go directly to her cousin’s family.  I reviewed this book in June.  It’s a fantastic resource for homeschooling families or any family that wants a fun way to learn a life skill!

To make a donation, simply click on the “give” button below. You’ll be taken to PayPal where you can make your donation of any amount, and then you’ll be immediately taken to a page where you can download Learn the States and Postal Abbreviations.  If you’d like to see sample pages from the book, you may do that here.
