***GIVEAWAY CLOSED. Teresa #347 is the lucky winner!***
Late in July I got an email from HowDoesShe.com asking if I’d like to try a Silhouette Craft Cutter and give one away on my blog… the week of September 23. My first reaction?
“Hi Missy — I’ve been away from my email. Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. The Silhouette sounds like an amazing product, and it would be so much fun to try one out. But… I’m due to have my 4th baby in the “middle of September” so I don’t want to overcommit. I just don’t know if I can be crafty and have a baby all at the same time.
Thanks so much for thinking of me, though!”
I bailed.
Then they emailed me again. After second-guessing myself, I replied:
“Hi Missy — I originally declined your offer because my 4th baby is due around September 15-20th, but I’m really regretting that decision. Wondering if we can work something out. If I could get the Silhouette early, perhaps I could play around with it and make a few things before baby arrives? I don’t want to miss any deadlines… maybe I could have the giveaway post written up in my drafts before I go into labor? My readers would be SO EXCITED about this. Let me know what you think.”
Uh-huh. Joke’s on me. They sent the Silhouette early, and my Silhouette remains in its box. My grand plans of making “Big Brother,” “Big Sister,” and “Baby Brother” shirts for baby’s birthday… didn’t happen. I’ve still got grand plans, though!
The Silhouette can make custom apparel. I’m thinking some family team shirts would be fun! Something like this:

And Christmas gifts? Using the vinyl decor setting, I could easily snag some cast-off tiles at a home improvement store and make these:

With a little imagination and some paper crafting, I could turn regular ol’ cupcakes into Mom of the Year cupcakes for my children’s class parties:

The scrapbooking, the glass etching, the card making… the possibilities are endless! Just as soon as I come out of my sleep-deprived newborn survival mode, I’ll get right on that!
The Silhouette is a digital cutting tool for personal use. It connects to your computer just like a printer, but instead of printing designs it cuts them with a small blade. With the machine connected to your computer, you’ll get access to all of the fonts on your PC plus the thousands of cuttable designs found on the Silhouette Online Store.
One of YOU is going to win a FREE Silhouette, but if you don’t want to chance the giveaway, here are a couple of excellent deals you can get in on by using my code, FINER. (After you enter the code, the discounts and freebies will show up in your basket.)

I think my desire for a Silhouette has turned from a want to a need. Do you think I could convince my husband? (Well, if it were free, he’d be totally happy to have it in our home…)
I think I need to do heat transfers first – my wardrobe would look much nicer than it does currently with just a bunch of plain Ts.
I would make something for my walls. Or start in on Xmas and make stuff for family and friends!!!
I want one of these so bad I am drooling. What would I make first? Probably a hybrid box, because it’s easy, but it would get no rest!!
I have wanted a Silhouette for quite a while. I would like to try everything, although my top three are: make table decorations for my son who is getting married next year, make a banner for my grandchild who is to be born in April, and try glass etching! I would love it ALL!
I would make t-shirts for my kids and the other family that we hang out with that has four kids as well. Eight kids between the two families is a lot to keep track of on a playground. We have talked about making shirts alike for all of them so that’s what I would do first.
I’d make cutouts for my son’s room! It would be great…and he’d love it.
What a cool giveaway…thanks for reconsidering it
Heather
Vinyl cutouts for my new baby boy’s room! And maybe a few for the big sisters as well
I think I’d try the etched glass! Love this!
I’d make a giant vinyl ‘B’ (for our last name) to hang on our entry way wall.
I would make the cute tiles as shown for some Christmas presents as well as vinyl names for our daughters rooms and some other vinyl sayings as gifts for family and friends!
No wall would be safe from the vinyl letters! How very fun!!! Thanks for the giveaway.
I would definitely make this year’s Christmas cards. What an awesome product!
I would totally use this little machine for VINYL! I’ve been drooling over it for sometime and Christmas just seems sooooo far away! I’ll be keeping my fingers crossed!

I would start making some Christmas gifts and crafts if I won, which I would love to win!!!!!!!!!
I would love to start off with some vinyl projects for my walls & then get some things done in my scrapbooks.
I would love to make some t-shirts and tattoos for my boys!
I would love to etch some glass vases.
I think I would make tile wallhangings with a few of my favorite Bible verses…
I would make cupcake liner covers for my daughter’s Halloween party at school!
I would LOVE to win! I design papercraft templates, so I would use this for my business! Perfect!
It looks so cool! I’d definitely do vinyl cutting first – I need some quotes for my walls!
I would use it for headings in my scrapbook.
I would make Christmas presents for sure!
Halloween decorations would be fun to make with the Silhouette! Possibilities are unlimited and fun, too.
Pick me! Pick me! I’d make favor tags and banners! Such fun!
What an amazing machine! I would finish off my boys’ baby books first, then try out the glass etching. How fun!
There are so many cute things to make, but I think the first would be a couple of custom t shirts for my daughter.
I’d probably make some sort of Christmas presents with it. yay! Thanks for the chance to win!!
I would make cute scrapbook pages for my family scrapbook!
I shared the link on FB
My little man is turning 1 on October 12th! I am so excited. We are also having family pictures done soon after that and I would love to make the team shirts for our family for that!
I would also love to create some fun crafty items for Thanksgiving and Christmas! It would be so awesome to win this.
Thanks so much for the chance Amy!
Momma to 3

I would love to make some vinyl decor.
I would make Christmas presents! This looks so cool.
I’d make some of those awesome cupcake wrappers. You are right, they take “nice” cupcakes and make them extraordinary! Thanks for the chance to win.
The first thing I’d do with my silhouette: KISS IT! Brand spankin’ new, right out o’ the box – ok, maybe I’d even kiss the BOX!
Then, I’d scrapbook and make homeschool materials and make t-shirts and make things for the house!
Oh, it would be wonderful – most certainly a FINER THING!
I would make a beautiful cut out for a Thank You card for the nice lady doing the give away. : ) Then I would make paper cut outs for my scrapbook stuff.

Definitely family shirts for our reunion in November!
I would love to use it for vinyl decor!
I would make a sign for our homeschool room…already tried using computer printout, but it just isn’t going to cut it (hahaha) for the length of my board. Thanks for the chance and congrats on the baby.
The 5 plus vinyl quotes I’d like to put on my walls but am to cheap to buy!
Definitely homemade Christmas gifts… I’m thinking t-shirts would be up there. I’d have to share with my crafty MIL, though, and who knows what she’d come up with! Thanks for the chance, Amy, and I got a good tee-hee over the timing of all this. :>)

The first thing I would make would be a fun party favor, cupcake or cake topper for my Grandma’s 90th birthday party. I’ve purchased a few things for the celebration from others (who’ve probably used this machine to design what I’v purchased.) Now I want a turn to try. And I can’t think of a better person to try to design something for the first time than my Grandma!
