Giveaway: Silhouette Craft Cutter ($300 value!)

***GIVEAWAY CLOSED.  Teresa #347 is the lucky winner!***

Late in July I got an email from HowDoesShe.com asking if I’d like to try a Silhouette Craft Cutter and give one away on my blog… the week of September 23.  My first reaction?

“Hi Missy — I’ve been away from my email.  Sorry for the delay in getting back to you.  The Silhouette sounds like an amazing product, and it would be so much fun to try one out.  But… I’m due to have my 4th baby in the “middle of September” so I don’t want to overcommit. I just don’t know if I can be crafty and have a baby all at the same time.  ;)
Thanks so much for thinking of me, though!”

I bailed.

Then they emailed me again. After second-guessing myself, I replied:

“Hi Missy — I originally declined your offer because my 4th baby is due around September 15-20th, but I’m really regretting that decision. Wondering if we can work something out.  If I could get the Silhouette early, perhaps I could play around with it and make a few things before baby arrives? I don’t want to miss any deadlines… maybe I could have the giveaway post written up in my drafts before I go into labor? My readers would be SO EXCITED about this.  Let me know what you think.”

Uh-huh. Joke’s on me.  They sent the Silhouette early, and my Silhouette remains in its box.  My grand plans of making “Big Brother,” “Big Sister,” and “Baby Brother” shirts for baby’s birthday… didn’t happen.  I’ve still got grand plans, though!

The Silhouette can make custom apparel.  I’m thinking some family team shirts would be fun!  Something like this:

And Christmas gifts?  Using the vinyl decor setting, I could easily snag some cast-off tiles at a home improvement store and make these:

With a little imagination and some paper crafting, I could turn regular ol’ cupcakes into Mom of the Year cupcakes for my children’s class parties:

The scrapbooking, the glass etching, the card making… the possibilities are endless!  Just as soon as I come out of my sleep-deprived newborn survival mode, I’ll get right on that!

The Silhouette is a digital cutting tool for personal use. It connects to your computer just like a printer, but instead of printing designs it cuts them with a small blade. With the machine connected to your computer, you’ll get access to all of the fonts on your PC plus the thousands of cuttable designs found on the Silhouette Online Store.

One of YOU is going to win a FREE Silhouette, but if you don’t want to chance the giveaway, here are a couple of excellent deals you can get in on by using my code, FINER.  (After you enter the code, the discounts and freebies will show up in your basket.)

  1. Shelly says:

I think my desire for a Silhouette has turned from a want to a need. Do you think I could convince my husband? (Well, if it were free, he’d be totally happy to have it in our home…) :) I think I need to do heat transfers first – my wardrobe would look much nicer than it does currently with just a bunch of plain Ts.

  2. Lynsey says:

I would make something for my walls. Or start in on Xmas and make stuff for family and friends!!!

  3. Sarah Barton says:

I want one of these so bad I am drooling. What would I make first? Probably a hybrid box, because it’s easy, but it would get no rest!!

  4. Susan Benivegna says:

I have wanted a Silhouette for quite a while. I would like to try everything, although my top three are: make table decorations for my son who is getting married next year, make a banner for my grandchild who is to be born in April, and try glass etching! I would love it ALL!

I would make t-shirts for my kids and the other family that we hang out with that has four kids as well. Eight kids between the two families is a lot to keep track of on a playground. We have talked about making shirts alike for all of them so that’s what I would do first.
