***GIVEAWAY CLOSED. Teresa #347 is the lucky winner!***
Late in July I got an email from HowDoesShe.com asking if I’d like to try a Silhouette Craft Cutter and give one away on my blog… the week of September 23. My first reaction?
“Hi Missy — I’ve been away from my email. Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. The Silhouette sounds like an amazing product, and it would be so much fun to try one out. But… I’m due to have my 4th baby in the “middle of September” so I don’t want to overcommit. I just don’t know if I can be crafty and have a baby all at the same time.
Thanks so much for thinking of me, though!”
I bailed.
Then they emailed me again. After second-guessing myself, I replied:
“Hi Missy — I originally declined your offer because my 4th baby is due around September 15-20th, but I’m really regretting that decision. Wondering if we can work something out. If I could get the Silhouette early, perhaps I could play around with it and make a few things before baby arrives? I don’t want to miss any deadlines… maybe I could have the giveaway post written up in my drafts before I go into labor? My readers would be SO EXCITED about this. Let me know what you think.”
Uh-huh. Joke’s on me. They sent the Silhouette early, and my Silhouette remains in its box. My grand plans of making “Big Brother,” “Big Sister,” and “Baby Brother” shirts for baby’s birthday… didn’t happen. I’ve still got grand plans, though!
The Silhouette can make custom apparel. I’m thinking some family team shirts would be fun! Something like this:

And Christmas gifts? Using the vinyl decor setting, I could easily snag some cast-off tiles at a home improvement store and make these:

With a little imagination and some paper crafting, I could turn regular ol’ cupcakes into Mom of the Year cupcakes for my children’s class parties:

The scrapbooking, the glass etching, the card making… the possibilities are endless! Just as soon as I come out of my sleep-deprived newborn survival mode, I’ll get right on that!
The Silhouette is a digital cutting tool for personal use. It connects to your computer just like a printer, but instead of printing designs it cuts them with a small blade. With the machine connected to your computer, you’ll get access to all of the fonts on your PC plus the thousands of cuttable designs found on the Silhouette Online Store.
One of YOU is going to win a FREE Silhouette, but if you don’t want to chance the giveaway, here are a couple of excellent deals you can get in on by using my code, FINER. (After you enter the code, the discounts and freebies will show up in your basket.)

I’d love to make some vinyl projects! Hmm… labels!
hmm.. hard to decide! I think vinyl decor for my walls.
I think those cupcakes are awesome. They would have to be my first experiment. Although I think if I won this, I would have to give it to my mom for an early Christmas present. She is very creative, and I’m sure she would make way cooler stuff on it than me.
I’d make a family name sign with vinyl. and then vinyl labels for my glass food storage. oooh then lots more stuff!!
Wow, how fun would this be!!!!
Glad to see that it works with a Mac. I would so love to get back into my scrapbooking that it would be fun to make some great titles with the silhouette. But I may need to make some of those cute cupcake holders first!!!
Since the holidays are right around the corner, I’d make some kickin’ greeting cards and gift tags
*Thanks* for the giveaway!

I would love a Silhouette! I would start with quotes for my walls!
I loved the cupcake wrappers, but I also loved the tiles, hard to decide…
Wow, this is very cool. With Christmas coming, I’d like to use it to make somoe gifts- your ideas were great- shirts, decorative plates with the glass etching, or vinyl decorations.
I would make a personalized birthday banner for my daughter’s first birthday!
I live in Mexico, but my Mom is coming in November, (haven’t seen her in 2 years) so…I’d spend time making Christmas presents with her! Ooohh we’d have lots of fun!!!
I would love to win this! And my first project would be a vinyl sign for my laundry room…I’ve been wanting one in there for so long!
would love to try my hand at homemade Christmas gifts with this baby…maybe some cool tiles?
I’m most excited about the vinyl! Thanks for the chance!
Wow! This sounds like a great machine! I would be working on my daughters scrapbooks that I started a while ago (I don’t even want to say how many years ago). But I’m finally getting into the groove of doing it and this would really help. Thanks for the great giveaway!
I would first make a sign for my son’s nursery. I have been wanting to put I Sam 1:27 up in there. Then I would get started on Christmas gifts…unlimited opportunities!!
I think I would make family tee shirts. This machine sounds like a lot of fun.
I would love to use it to decorate with vinyl….
I’d probably start with some vinyl decals for my walls but quickly move on to many other projects.
I’d love to use it to scrapbook about my new granddaughter.

I would do some vinyl for the walls in the bathroom that I’m re-doing.
I have so many ideas for ways that I could use this, but my first project would have to be glass etching. I’d like to make a spice rack with matching jars and put the name of the spice on the glass. This would be perfect. PLEASE PICK ME!!!
Monogrammed onesies for my daughter
The first thing I would make are some wonderful Christmas crafts! Homemade gifts are the best gifts and this would really come in handy this holiday season…not to mention, the 30th is my birthday so that would be a wonderful (free!) gift to myself
I would start with stencils for Halloweent shirts and follow that up with some cup cake wrappers
This is something I would love to have but would never feel I could justify. I love the vinyl things, but I sew and cook, so it would probably be a toss up between the cupcake wrappers or something similar or something for clothes. I love that O Holy Night example you included! What a wonderful Christmas gift that would be!
First thing??? Hmmmmm…..I want a monogram for the glass door, welcome on the front door, something for the in-the-midst-of-remodeling bathroom, ghosts for the front windows, chandy for daughter’s room, Ts for the kids, etc, etc, etc. First thing likely would be the monogram as it would be easy to learn on.
I would love this. The first thing would be to make vinyl letters for a project on canvas!
I love this! I’ve been dreaming about getting some cutouts for my wall. This is perfect. And gift ideas! Wowzers!
Wow! the possibilities with that thing! What would I make first? Maybe something on clothes for my girls.
aside from the fact that I can’t stop thinking about those cupcake liners – the first thing I’d make would probably be actual silhouettes – been wanting to do those of the kids for my in laws
I would make some new cool tshirts for my homeschool!
I’d make stencils for the walls- I love whimsical little pictures on walls, but I’m not very good at drawing/painting!
The first thing I would make is our Advent Calendar for this year – it’s a project that I’ve been wanting to make for a LONG time and I’ve wanted a cutting machine… The Silhouette would be above and beyond my wishes!!
I need to get started on my Christmas cards.
I think the first thing I would make would be shirts for my kids. An owl shirt for my daughter (she was named after my great-grandmother who collected owls). Some Mario design for my oldest son, robot for my second boy, and dragon/dinosaur for my third boy.
Whoa!! What an awesome giveaway! I would make wall cutouts because we’re moving soon and I will need to re-decorate my kids’ rooms!
I would love to make some shirts for Christmas Gifts or even the tile decor you showed! That looks really neat and I would love to personalize those for family and friends for great Christmas gifts! I often opt for only homemade gifts so this would come in handy for that. Thanks for the giveaway!
