“So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver” (2 Corinthians 9:7)
One of the reasons we live as we do is to give. Yes, it would be nice to have cable, go on vacations, do some remodeling in the house, have newer vehicles… but we don’t need those things.
We do need to give. Because we want to. We choose to give.
Giving stirs up our sense of gratitude. It makes us realize what we have. And what we have is everything.
My friend Jennifer, over at Saving and Giving, has started a new weekly blog carnival: A Time to Give.
A note from Jennifer,
You can participate in a couple of ways. If you’re a blogger, write a post about a way that you’ve been able to give. It can be something simple or something out-of-the-ordinary that you did. It can be something from this week or from last year. Don’t think of it as bragging… It’s a way to encourage others to take action and be more generous!
Stir up your own sense of gratitude and be encouraged to give.

Thanks, Amy! I’m excited to see what everyone has to share this week. It’s so motivating to hear the stories of generosity!
I am giving you a bloggy award today. Please stop by and accept it.
Thanks!
very neat! Thanks for that reminder this morning!
Giving can come in many shapes and forms… even a word of encouragement can be that giving factor! Great idea Jennifer!
What a great idea:-)
What a great idea! Hope it inspires others and myself to give more!
