Gifts for the Home ~ 2012 Christmas Gift Guide {and a Giveaway}

Gifts for Tweens and Teens Winner [3]:  Congratulations to Patricia!  (wesdelchic07@ [4])  Patricia won a $40 credit to ScriptureArt.com [5].

And, we’re back!  Jen [6] and I have rounded up a list of both fun and practical gifts for the home this week, and we have a giveaway to help you get organized in the new year.

1.  Family Rules Subway Art [7]

I have been jonesing for one of these for a few years now.  Every family has rules, why not display them in a fun way?  I want!  A quick browse through Etsy [8] nets so many perfect options, which only feeds my procrastinating tendencies.  I need to just pick one, already!

2.  The Time Keeper 2013 Planner [9]

For the home?  Yes, for the home, because without my planner our home life is chaos!  The Time Keeper [9] is a beautiful way to organize and manage your busy days all in one place. Using this dated, weekly planner with its practical and uncomplicated layout, you’ll find it easy to keep your act together.  It’s simple without any fluff that makes me feel guilty about what I’m not doing, and really, The Time Keeper [9] had me at perforated grocery lists.  {swoon}

3.  Frozen Yogurt-Ice Cream & Sorbet Maker

I scoffed at Jen when she was telling me about her 1½ quart capacity ice cream maker.  Pfffft.  Our ice cream freezer [10]is a 6 quart!  But then I got to thinking… Ice cream without the icy, salty mess?  Hmmm, she may be on to something here!  This Cuisinart Ice Cream Maker [11]has the ice cream ready (soft-serve) in about 20 minutes. (My biggest fear is that it would be too easy and I’d be making ~ and eating ~ ice cream every night!)

4.  Immersion Blender [12]

Have I told you my immersion blender [12]story?  It’s one of the few {ahem} things that survived my husband’s bachelor pad and was moved into our married home.  And it sat in a drawer for 10ish years before I ever used it!  What is this thing?  Well, this thing is amazing!  I use it for everything now.  Fruit syrup, soups, refried beans.  Love the immersion blender.

5.  CounterTop Convection Oven [13]

I’m gonna take Jen’s word on this one, because a convection oven has never even crossed my radar.  Apparently, it’s WAY more than a toaster oven. Because it’s also a CounterTop Convection Oven [13], you can bake in it. Jen’s made small batches of muffins and even broiled fish in it. This one has a pizza bump so you can pop a 12-inch pizza in to avoid heating up the big oven.  I would just have to do that about 4 times in a row to feed my family.  😉

6.  Wind-Up Flashlight Set [14]

Jen got these for the guys in our family last Christmas.  They must be a popular guy gift, because Lance got one, too!  I like the fact that they don’t take batteries. I think the guys like the whole prepared-man-in-the-wilderness aspect. With 5 kids in the house and entirely too many toys to be robbing batteries for (oh, come on, you know you’ve done it), at least we know we have one flashlight [14] that’s always at the ready!

7.  12-Bin Organizer [15]

This 12-Bin Organizer [15]would fit beautifully on our back porch, one of the catch-all area of the home.  It would also fit well in the kids’ rooms.  You know how they say a place for everything, and everything in its place?  We do not have that going on around here, but I want to!  The bins come out easily so the kids could just grab one and get to playing with whatever is in it!  (I am so slow to learn.)

8.  Therapeutic Essential Oils [16] and Diffuser [17]

I’ve only known about essential oils for a few months, but I am sold!  Just last week I fought off an icky head and chest cold using my oils and my diffuser.  Lavender oil [16]immediately took the sting out of a steam burn on my finger a while back.  In addition to all the first aid benefits, I love that I can make my house smell great and purify the air without burning toxic chemicals.

9.  SentrySafe Fire-Safe Waterproof Chest [18]

Ever the practical gift giver, I remember years ago giving these portable safes [18] to my siblings for Christmas. With a waterproof seal, the SentrySafe completely insulates the interior from the threat of water or fire invasion.  It’s heavy for its size, but still easily portable.  CDs, DVDs, USB drives, memory stick, and important papers are kept safe from the elements.

Ready for a giveaway?  I’ve got the Time Keeper 2013 planner on my kitchen table, all ready to map out my year.  It’s both beautiful and simple, which is the perfect combination to motivate my Type Z personality!  There is a weekly menu planning section and plenty of  perforated grocery list strips in the back.

Starla, the creator of The Time Keeper, has generously provided a planner for one of my readers!  To enter, simply leave a comment.  (It’s nearly midnight here.  I should’ve been in bed nearly 3 hours ago.  My brain is fried.  Any comment will do!)  Feel free to share this giveaway on Facebook, Twitter, and/or Pinterest for an extra entry or two, just be sure to leave a comment that you did!

Giveaway ends Sunday, December {gasp!} 2, at 11:59 pm, CST.  Winner will be randomly drawn and notified by email.  US addresses only, please.
