Here are the rules:
- No unnecessary trips into town. (“town” in either direction is at least 15 miles)
- No driving into town for just one thing.
- Kids in bed by 7:30 (not asleep, just in bed)
- No pop except for special occasions (like whenever grandma hands it out)
Every once in awhile it’s okay to break the rules. (Aren’t you glad to have permission?!)
Driving 17 miles (one way) to the nearest Sonic… an hour past bedtime… in our jammies… to enjoy FREE Rootbeer Floats? Definitely a Finer Thing!

She prefers to wear her ice cream.
Did you get your free float on Wednesday?
What Finer Things are you celebrating this week? Link up and let us know! Please link to your Finer Things post and not your home page. I’d also sure appreciate a link back here so your readers can find us.

I wish we had Sonic near us. Looks like they had fun!
Thanks for hosting!

I love it! What a wonderful memory you have created! Bravo Mom!
This is so cute! I agree…the memories are worth breaking the rules every once in awhile!
So great! Those rule breaking times are the stuff that memories are made of!!!
Indeed! Expeditions such as this one are the ones that make summer special and are things the kids will look forward too.
I like to wear my ice cream too!
How much fun is THAT?! Don’t you just LOVE summer time!!
How fun!! You are right. Sometimes you really do have to break the rules. Great memory made that night, and for a free root beer float!! You did good, Mommy! Amy, have a great weekend.
Oh, yeah! We went directly after church to Sonic. They were packed, but it was worth it!
Oh, what fun!!!! Definitely a finer thing!
YUMMMMMM
Our nearest Sonic is almost an hour away, so no root beer floats for us! booooooooo
What a great way to break all of the rules!!! A pure treat!!
