Thanks for saying that you used the little stars. We all love this salad and usually when I find the acini de pepe I buy two or three or more boxes to have since it is hard to find in Colorado. This time all I have are the little stars so now that I know someone else tried it with them, I will also. Now my family will love me forever. Ha Ha

This recipe used to be on the acinidepepe box is a great fruit salad but needs to be kept refrigerated or it thins out fast

I have made it for family gatherings and they love it. I have also made it for my fire dept picnics and it always has gone over big. Everyone thought it was made with Tapioca pudding. Love it!!

I did make it with the stars and no one could tell the difference! They are so tiny you can’t really tell what they are especially when covered with everything that is in the salad! Make sure you have a metal strainer with the very small holes….the starts are tiny!!

I live in Colorado, we love it! It is so hard to find the pasta. Most stores don’t carry it a lot of times. I am having to use the tiny pasta stars this time, just because I can’t find the Acini de pepe anywhere!! Hope it turns out the same!

I had to see what this recipe was all about and I laughed when I saw it. My mom had this once and fell in love. Now she thinks it is mandatory that we have it at every family gathering or major holiday. We all like it, but not with the passion that she has. She will stress herself silly to make sure it is on the table!

And we never called it that…but I may introduce that name next time. We just know it as Acini de Pepe salad. Pretty boring compared to yours!

Definitely a Midwest recipe. Fruit salads, casseroles, aw… it all reminds me of home!
