Finer Things Friday: Three Hours

Some would say sitting at a car dealership from 8 to 9:45 in the morning, waiting on an alignment job, is an inconvenience.  Others would say being at the doctor’s office from 9:45 until 11:15 (pre-natal glucose test) is a pain.

Me?  I did both this morning. Inconvenience?  Pain?

I figure I got 3+ hours of nearly uninterrupted quiet. Coupons purged, cut, and filed; newspaper articles clipped (our kids are in the Tiny Town paper a lot); magazine read.  Quiet. Just me and the bump.

We’ll call that gift of time a Finer Thing (especially since I just got the call that I passed the glucose test… even after eating pancakes with syrup for breakfast).  ;)

  1. I used to think it was an inconvenience to wait at the doctor’s office … until I had a kid. Now, as long as I’m there without her, it’s bliss! QUIET TIME! I almost wish for them to take their time.

  2. Your bump is so wonderful. And time to yourself? Ahhh….amazing.

  3. I agree. Sounds heavenly to me. c-:

  4. Alisa says:

    Sounds relaxing! :)

  5. Candi says:

Love your little bump! Loving time spent in solitude is priceless!

  6. Yay for quiet time!! Any way you can get it;)

  7. JessieLeigh says:

Quiet time is fantastic… but even better? How ’bout that flat-out ADORABLE bump of yours? Love, love, love. Thanks for sharing it with us! :)

  8. Time cherished…it doesn’t last too long :-)
    Thanks for hosting!
    ~Liz

  9. Annie Kate says:

Quiet time is so refreshing. I think that’s one of the reasons I love weeding my garden so much; kids aren’t generally eager to join in! :)

I do occasionally have ‘working bees’ in the garden with everyone, as we did this week when we finished the planting and started harvesting herbs.

    Thanks for hosting.

    Annie Kate

  10. Audra says:

So great to see “the bump!” I am very glad your pregnancy is going well. Thanks for the link up!

  11. You look great ! Awaiting my first grandchild – a girl ! – due in 3 short weeks. Brings back memories….grab any peace and quiet you can get.

  12. Maria says:

The bump looks wonderful! I can’t wait to hear who it is, and maybe even get to meet your precious baby sometime!

  13. Not only quiet, but productive- good for you! I remember just wanting to read magazines or a book. Not quite as productive. :-)

  14. Look at that beautiful bump!! You are looking great! Praise God the glucose test was normal. Woo hoo! I am glad (and jealous) you had the 3 hours uninterrupted.

  15. kristin says:

I love it when that happens! No kids, long waits, lists of things to accomplish, organize or sort! That is a fine thing!

  16. Betsy says:

I spent 7 hours with the Twilight trilogy – all three movie! Rocked!

  17. Run DMT says:

Pancakes for breakfast and you still passed? WOW! That’s impressive. I ate a bowl of PB cap’n crunch and watermelon for breakfast a few weeks ago and my doctor told me to cut out the sugar. So, pancakes are safe. PB Cap’n Crunch is not. Good to know! lol

You are the woman sitting through all that in one day. Seriously, you should get an award or something, especially since you accomplished so much while sitting through it all.

Congratulations on your pregnancy. Here’s to a healthy one!

Visiting here from Feels Like Home and I’m so glad I did. :-)

  18. Sherry says:

That is awesome! Praise God the test went well! I remember having to do that one with ds. :D
