My husband is a HS football coach as well as special-education teacher, and we run our high school’s special olympics program. He has “managers” like this boy Matt on both his football and basketball teams. To see them put on that uniform, their faces just light up. They have so much team pride and they are the heart of the team… the other members watch out for them. What a nice story and thanks for sharing with the rest of us. We need to hear a little more news like this!!

I’m just blubbering like an idiot here! How special for those boys to do that for Matt. As a sports mom myself, I’d love to see more of that on the teams we have played on.
