Finer Things Friday: Sharing My Valentine

My children are enamored with their Daddy. So am I. On Valentine’s day, as with any other, I have to share him, and am delighted to do so.  There’s nothing quite like watching the man you love more than anyone in the world play with the kids for whom you’d give your life.

My kids delight in their Daddy Time. “Is it time for Ticklefest? Can we play Wrestless?” (wrestle) Ninety-five percent of the time Daddy obliges.  He is also eager to give up some peace and quiet to have a child or two join him in a project or for a trip to the farm.

My kids are blessed beyond measure with a Daddy who guides them and is an integral part of their daily lives.  A Daddy who showers praises and affection.  A Daddy who corrects and provides limits.  A Daddy who gives good-bye kisses and says goodnight prayers.

My kids and I, we share the same Valentine. He is definitely one of the Finer Things in Life.

Your husband so looks like the “coach!” If they ever make a movie in Tiny Town he should play the part! I love all your posts about your family, the kids are adorable, you can see the love!

My husband complained when we were expecting our first that there was gobs of info about expectant mothers but nothing out there for expectant fathers. Things have gotten a little better in the ensuing 12 years. Thanks for giving Dads a nod they so richly deserve!

What a fantastic Finer Thing to celebrate! Don’t you just hope and pray your own daughters will be so lucky someday? I find myself thinking about that sometimes and just praying my little girl finds a man to be as strong a husband and father as her own Daddy… :)

Hi! I just found your blog from the Hooked On Houses post.

I love that you are braggin’ on your man!
Supportive, kind words are so important in encouraging guys in their fatherhood.

I linked up with your Finer things post about two yummy not-from-scratch Valentine’s desserts!

Thanks. :)

I agree with everything you said…what a blessing it is to have a Daddy to share! It made me chuckle when you mentioned wrestling because that is a nightly activity in our house. Aubrey frequently asks her Daddy to “ruffle”…hee, hee!
