Finer Things Friday: Keep Counting Blessings!

These blessings, all gifts, keep coming.  Tumbling at me faster than I can remember to write them down!  (#1-11#12-23#24-37)

38.  A steamy bowl of chili (topped with chips and cheese) on a rainy spring day.

39.  My trio singing Happy Birthday over the phone to endless family members.

40.  Celebrating 87 years of birthdays with 4 generations.

41.  A precious new baby boy in the family.  (And how did my baby get so big already?!)

42.  The first pearly white poking through the gums, and extra cuddles because my boy is hurtin’.

43.  Extra chores to earn money for charity.  Big sister’s project, but little brother and sister joining in.

44.  A “good enough” clean back porch, done all by the big girl.  (I’m getting closer to working myself out of a job!)

45.  Celebrating the life legacy of a neighbor who will be dearly missed by all of Tiny Town.

46.  My blog assistant.  He prefers payment by milk.

47.  A snack of one pear and two apples with peanut butter, chased down by a full supper, including seconds… all eaten by one growing child.

48.  Laughing hysterically with my hubby over silly tv shows that we likely shouldn’t be watching in the first place.

49.  Amazon coupon codes (found in magazines) combined with the Amazon Mom program, netting me 3 packs of 184 baby wipes (see, told ya these are only for emergencies) for only $2.64!

50.  Lazy granola for a quick breakfast when I just. can’t. wake. up. after a long night with my “assistant”.

What Finer Things are you celebrating this week? Link up and let us know!  (You certainly don’t have to link a list of blessings… I’m doing this for Lent.  Any Finer Thing goes!)

  1. Sweet, sweet picture of you and your baby boy!

  2. I love your list and how you keep adding to each it and sharing it with us every week. I didn’t realize that you did this list for Lent. What a great idea! I was having all sorts of Catholic guilt because I didn’t give anything up for Lent. I’ve heard that you can always ADD something to your life to enrich it for Lent in the hopes that it will continue after Lent. BUT, I never thought to count my blessings for Lent. Maybe I’ll do a list of 40 things for the 40 days of Lent! Thanks so much for the inspiration! I’m so excited to count my blessings now! xox

  3. I am sharing the easiest way to make delicious and nutritious coconut butter.

My kids love this and can barely keep out of it once it is done!

Take a look and see how much money you can save making it yourself!

    Thanks for hosting!

  4. My finer thing this week is being on vacation, but sometimes vacations don’t quite go as planned. Oh well. At least we’re here and not home.

    Thanks for hosting, Amy!

  5. I enjoyed your previous lists, but this one really made me smile. I love #46. It sounds like something I would say. 🙂

Also, #47 really stood out to me. I was just talking with my hubby yesterday about how our grocery bills have gotten really high. I think that part of it is my little one eating all table food, but that is crazy! She is only 1.5 years old!

PS. I’m so sad that I can’t seem to find any more Amazon coupons! I thought I signed up for all the right magazines, but I just can’t find any. BOO! Congrats to you though!

  6. Beautiful list!!!

  7. Christie says:

Today, I’m so extremely thankful for my job in the midst of massive layoffs at my employer yesterday. But even more thankful that had I been one losing my job, that I have a God who will care for me and my family, who knows our needs before I do, and will never leave me!!

  8. Today I am thankful for the Hallelujah song that starts with “I heard there was a secret chord that David played before the Lord”.
Also, I look forward to this every Friday. Thanks, Amy.

  9. Beautiful list! Today I’m linking up a post that was difficult to publish. I knew I had to do it and so I was brave. My faith is incredibly important to me and today I was unashamed of it!

  10. I agree the blessings overflow. You look like you’re enjoying one of your blessings immensely.

  11. Thanks for the list of blessings! Your little one is adorable 🙂 I linked up a tip about starting seedlings and using a reflector so they get enough sunshine. Homegrown food is definitely a Finer Thing in my book! Thanks for hosting 🙂

  12. Love the list! I know what you mean, once you start thinking of your blessings you realize you have so many and they just keep coming and coming. I really enjoy participating in your finer things Friday!

  13. Happy Friday! I am sharing my recipe for Pork Chops With Apples And Almonds.
    Thanks for hosting!

  14. Those assistants sure are demanding. It’s a good thing they are so darn cute. Wish we lived close so we could let them play and get some blog work done! 😉 (Or some girl chat!)

  15. I really enjoy reading your list each week!! I’m grateful for good friends…I am blessed to have more than a few, and when we get together we laugh and laugh. Medicine for the soul!!

I linked up my EASY Black Bean & Sweet Potato Tostada this week. Have a great weekend!!

  16. I LOVE Amazon Mom and have found much delight in trying to figure out how much I can save. I’m glad to hear I’m not the only one hunting down the bargains.

Your chili blessing made me crave it and add ingredients to my shopping list. Though I better check out our Texas weather because I can’t have chili on a 90 degree day.

Thanks for sharing your blessings list. What a wonderful exercise in gratitude!
