Our pastor’s wife just talked about our upcoming mom’s conference in July and this is the subject about measuring to other moms. It is so easy to do this. Thank you for sharing this as it is reiterating in my head. I need to measure my standards to God’s not man’s or woman’s for that matter.

I absolutely really started comparing myself once I started more blog reading. I was soon overwhelmed and unhappy. Then I started searching what really worked for MY family and not what worked for everyone else. I took tips from these blogs and incorporated them into our family and I tried very hard to stop comparing myself to everyone else. It is a difficult thing that we women do to ourselves but who are we ultimately to please – the Lord, our husbands and our children. Thank you for the post!

Hehe. Guess ya stirred the pot over there a bit, eh? As you know from the many blogs out there, people have different opinions and apparently LOVE to argue with bloggers. LOL. I’ve mentally disagreed about some things I’ve read, but I keep in mind that it’s my opinion and not everyone feels the same way about things. I say…..just let it roll off and disregard!

Hi Amy ~ Thank you so much for stopping by Star’s Fault to visit. Love your post about doing our best. My son is 25 now, but when he was a baby we lived in a small town in Southeast Alaska. Home was a tiny chalet(900 sq.ft.), we did use formula (son is beloved, beautiful, adopted Korean) used cloth diapers and made much of our own baby food, sewed his little shirts and jumpers…all this out of necessity. Life was simple in rural Alaska. We also heated with wood, and I did not have a clothes dryer. Imagine 4 dozen cloth diapers on drying racks! Eek!

I so agree with your post today, Amy. That’s a great reminder for all of us. It’s so hard not to get caught up in comparing ourselves to other moms, other families.
